Keegan
On the bright side, our chances of getting him to play for the Gold Cup are greatly improved. I think DeRo was going to answer the call either way or he wouldn't have come to Greece

Keegan
Well if it is it's after 12 and everyone is taking this way too far http://www.sportsnet.ca/soccer/2011/04/01/toronto_fc_deorsario_trade/ De Rosario wasn't at training today... he's gone
dyslexic nam
Maybe it is just me, but I find the novelty of these fake April Fools news stories wears off by about 8:01 in the morning. (unless I am wrong and its real)
David C.
I just heard it on the FAN 590 too. Not an April Fool's joke. Traded for a defender and a midfielder. Didn't catch the names.

JimmyJames
This is the Jason Devos Tweet.... RT @SoccerByIves: TFC dealing DeRosario to NY for Tony Tchani, Danleigh Borman and 1st rd pick in 2012. Good value for a disgruntled star.

leftcoastkicks
Wouldn't DeRo have to give up his designated player status to go to New York? I smell bollocks. He's never been a DP. This is legit. The only joke here is TFC.
BearcatSA
Borman a left sided fullback/mid, Tchani a central mid but I'm not sure if he a defensively minded type. Surprised that (or maybe NY wasn't interested?) they didn't package Sturgis in the deal.
phil7777
I don't know who borman and tchani are - who's the winner between NYRB and TFC?
Keegan
Well you have to figure that: a) NY traded for DeRo because they are willing to give him a DP slot (they have one open) DeRo agreed to a trade to NY so he could win while still having his current contract Either way this doesn't look good on TFC at all. If the Red Bulls give him a DP deal this is really really really a joke.

David C.
From what little I've read/heard so far, Tchani sounds like a terrific young box-to-box midfielder.

Grizzly
It is on Wiki so it must be true! Not a bad trade though as long as TFC can replace his goals. DeRo hurts the team in a lot of ways despite his goal production and to get two solid, younger MLS players plus a first round pick for him is as Devos says, "Good value for a disgruntled star." Also clears about $100 000 to $200 000 off the salary cap.
Redcoatsforever
Still not buying it. If it does end up being true, I'll strongly consider selling my tickets.
Soccerpro
If they can use some of the freed up cap space to bring in a goal scorer, I'll consider it a good deal.
David C.
FAN 590 update at 2:20 still reporting it as "unconfirmed reports of a trade". Winter apparently responded that deRosario is still "currently" a member of TFC.
