powerof11
Toronto FC only had two days to forget and move on from their thrashing at the hands of the New York Red Bulls as they travel to Panama to face Arabe Unido in their second group stage match in the CONCACAF Champion’s League. TFC have shown a propensity to bounce back after bad losses and last weekend’s game in New York is a prime example of how quickly the Reds can turn around from a poor performance and do what it takes to win the next game. Traveling to Panama will hopefully be smoother than Honduras, as they will be in tough against a side who are still reeling from their game against Real Salt Lake. Toronto will have to be well prepared for what could be in store for them if they are to come away with points in what is traditionally an unforgiving region for MLS sides. http://www.rednationonline.ca/Countdown_TFC_v_Arabe_Unido_august_23_10_news.shtml
Joe Keeper
What venue will be used for the game? DAU's home stadium only has a listed capacity of 4,000. Pics on their site confirm the relative size. http://www.deportivoarabeunido.com/estadio.php
nolando
Why wouldn't it be held at their home stadium? Soccer's not that big in Panama and TFC is hardly a household name outside of the GTA.
JamboAl
The match is being held at San Francisco's ground as the Arabe Unido one is not up to CONCACAF standards. Must be pretty awful!
jpg75
“It’s an important game against a club that has two players out,” said De Rosario in reference to defenders Nahil Carroll and Andres Santamaria, who were sent off in the loss to Salt Lake and are suspended for Tuesday. http://www.thestar.com/sports/soccer/mls/torontofc/article/851420--tfc-looking-to-bounce-back-in-panama Any trip to Central America promises to be tough. But Tuesday’s on the artificial turf of Estadio Agustin Sanchez promises to be even more so with the home side desperate to avoid dropping a second straight match in the competition and perhaps being more willing to employ questionable tactics. Salt Lake coach Jason Kreis called Arabe Unido’s tactics of feigning injuries to waste time “a microcosm (of) everything that’s wrong with our game.”
canucklefan
I found a pic of Arabe Unido's stadium. It has a capacity of 10000. And this is San Frascisco's stadium with a capacity of only 3000 seats.
Alex D
Both of those stadiums look identical, San Fransico's just looks in better shape. I've seen a video of Arabe's stadium. It is literally falling apart, the turf is coming up, and has sinkholes.

Arabe Unido have already shown in that first game their character and I'm seriously worried what this match to regress into.
nolando
Is it on TV? I'd like to see it. Sounds like it is shaping up to be a club version of some of those nasty Canada vs (Enter Central American Nation) encounters with dodgy officials, dodgy on-field tactics and dodgy supporters. narduch
The game is live on Gol TV. I'm interested to know who the ref is but I can't find the info anywhere.
Jeremy
I think it is mandatory in order to aprticipate in the CCL that you are able to accomodate a TV crew and their material.
paul-collins
Let's just hope the broadcast quality is better than it was for Motagua.
Spungi
If you don't get GOLTV the game will be streamed on the CONCACAF website as well. Luke Wileman has reported that tonights referee is Marlon Mejia from El Salvador.
Joe Keeper
With all this talk of shifty central american soccer would it surprise anyone if Benito Archundia showed up to "ref" tonights game?

If he finds out Canadians are playing down there someplace he might show up with a voodoo doll and some pins.
jonovision
This is the lineup for tonight: Kocic, Usanov, Harden, Attakora, Hscanovics; LaBrocca, de Guzman, Saric, Gala; White, Ibrahim Why waste 90 minutes of de Guzman if you're otherwise fielding a B-team? Spungi
I dont get this. This is a match we could win on the road! IF we get 3 points here we could send out the scrubs away in Mexico and Utah and dress a full strength squad for the home games.

Loud Mouth Soup
1-0 to Unido. Toronto have no desire right now. Playing like they just want to get it done and get out.
tarnado1555362291
^Gala has absolutely no right foot. It showed on his miss from the right side of goal, and as he tried to clear the ball off the goal line, having to back into the net to use his left. Loud Mouth Soup
That was actually getting painful to watch. Did Toronto even get past the edge of the centre circle in Unido's half? Piss-poor passing and no attack whatsoever.
Free kick
Whats frustrating about this game is how poor this Panamanian side is. Devos kept mentioning how TFC need to sustain some possession but i dont know how you can do that with players like Usanov, Saric and Hscanovic on the pitch. Their first touches are so poor. White's touch isn't great either but he needs to get forward and utilize his pace.

Loud Mouth Soup
LaBrocca red carded for a stupid, stupid challenge on the keeper. In typical Latin fashion, it appears he broke his face.
