FWIW, Sidra was in Toronto today, alongside Adrian Cann & Nana Attakora of TFC, modellling the new National Team jerseys at the Umbro/CSA event.

The recently retired Kara Lang was also there representing the women's team.

He's been "in talks" with a club for months - I agree, the only one that makes sense is TFC. The kid needs to play.

Ethan Gage on trial at Reading. I have heard that he may be there until the end of the season but that is not confirmed.

That was the news I was on about.

Back in town awaiting the outcome of talks between club and agent, but would be happy to rejoin Caps: http://www.theprovince.com/technology/Plan+just+fine+with+Gage+means+suiting+Whitecaps/4173752/story.html

He's a bit of a mystery to me. If he didn't stand out at the NASL level last year, how would he be good enough to play MLS with the same club?

In any case, I do hope he catches on with Reading.

Not anymore.

Ethan Gage entered Empire Field in street clothes Wednesday and looked like a guy who'd be OK with Plan B.

The 19-year-old midfielder-defender has just returned from a three-week trial with English Championship side Reading.

(...)

Gage, a native of Cochrane, Alta., is out of contract with the Whitecaps but has an open invitation — for now — to join the club for training camp, which opened Monday.

He's only 19. Why does he need to stand out. Majority of kids his age are playing in college or in the PDL. Late in the season he came on playing RB in the playoffs and by all accounts he was playing well, just needed to get his confidence. People keep saying the Whitecaps are down on him. Maybe they didn't sign to a MLS contract right away cause he had this opportunity in England.

Apparently Massih Wassey was briefly on trial at FC Emmen, a club in the Dutch second tier, but cut the trial short because he felt he was near to signing with a 2. Bundesliga team.

Hopefully he does indeed sign on with a new club in Germany.

Can't find any other news on the 2nd Bundesliga opportunity. He was also on trial with FC Zwolle a month or so ago.

He needs to get on with anyone, being unattached is such a waste and it sucks to see so many pool players with this problem. This Montreal try out would have been a good opportunity.
