The New Mother Of All Canadians Abroad

Who ever said it was a sob story? People are going to try and maximize their careers while they have the chance, you never know what tommorrow holds, and I don't blame a guy going for a EU passport to potentially get more and better opportunities as a soccer player. I doubt he fully knew what it would mean on the international level. Regardless it sucks that we can't use him as a MNT player, but people need to grow up if they harbor ill will towards this guy, he did'nt choose to represent another country or lie to us. If his leg was broken tommorrow, people on this board are'nt going to send the guy money so he has to look out for his own career.

Takura Mtandari

Previously in the Tottenham youth system still eligible for our U23s, apparently he's Canadian, Malawian and English. Found him on Football Manager haha

Pretty impressive, getting trials with PSV as well as Bolton chasing him

He isn't Canadian, he's from Edmonton, England.

  • 2 weeks later...

Frank Jonke's club, AC Oulu, has gone bust - or close enough to bust that they will not be allowed to compete this season. This obviously sucks since he just re-signed with them in January, and has since suffered a longish-term injury.

Sigma posted this on BS:

Adrian LeRoy (Ottawa Fury), born in Ottawa, is currently on trial with Colorado in the MLS. He is currently in Arizona with the team, and came on in the 83rd minute two days ago in a 4-2 win over Los Angeles.

Re: Abe is still in Ottawa - he is training here with a youth team, and I believe going back to Everton in a few weeks. I will ask and get you guys a more accurate answer!

Adrian Leroy is on trial at Colorado, he is doing very well. He is a big big strong center back with a fantastic spring, and endless pace and stamina. he definitely has the athletic ability to play in the MLS!

Eddie Edwards is injured in the FC Dallas camp, and hasn't trained or featured for at least a week.

Martin John is still at Cardiff, not getting into many squads (if at all) for league games. His only appearances have been in the league cup.

Thats all I have for now!

How is Tice doing in Norway? He's in a good league and a young prospect. Worth a call-up for a Euro Friendly I'd suggest...?? Good for Gyaki re: selecting Hansa over Cork. That's a great choice from a footballing perspective. If he can do well why not receive a call-up as well....since Occean can and is also play B3?

He's not with Hansa. He's playing for a 5th(or is it 6th, can't remember) division side based in Rostock. He wanted to live in Germany and be with his girlfriend so he signed with a lesser side.

Fresenga is listed as Uruguayan at both of these sites:

http://www.footballdatabase.eu/football.joueurs.andres.fresenga.112358.en.html

http://www.fussballtransfers.com/spieler/andres-fresenga

Gonna need proof he's Canadian before i post him on here.

Just to bring this up again, on FM Fresenga has a Canadian nationality and his birthplace is listed as Toronto, not saying its proof but chances are its right or how else would FM put that, something the CSA should look into.

The FM admin. frequents this board, his handle is "Aljarov". If he has proof i'd love for him to post it.

EPSN lists his birthplace as "Uruguay"

Looks like even if he is Canadian, he wants to play for Uruguay. This is the roster for a pre-qualifying tournament camp for domestic players:

http://www.juveniles.com.uy/pre-seleccion_sub20.html

Though he didn't make the cut for the squad that played in qualifying:

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet - but Adrian LeRoy has been released by the Rapids.

Also, Julien Edwards is back in Ottawa and looking as though he will be back with the Ottawa Fury after trials in Finland.

Will Beauge is currently in Edmonton on trial with FC Edmonton.
