    • Agree about Ramírez. Hayes is not right about that Buchanan challenge. She is almost at the centre circle, does not touch the ball, steps hard on the foot of the rival then a closed fist goes into her face. Close enough to a yellow to not complain. Maybe she needed to hear from her coach to be careful, or maybe Hayes had to send others out for that challenge, but if Kadeisha cannot read the game situation that is on her. I was thinking Hayes would be a bad signing for the US, after what I'd seen last year, when Chelsea were terrible. But these two games vs. Barça she coached well, they lined up intelligently, they annulled dangers with Lawrence stopping Graham Hansen, they played wide and attacked strong. They still have little pause and tend to be one fast gear always, but that is the old women's way of playing. I think she won't use the US midfield, and I like our chances vs. the US going forward, but I am not sure she'll be as bad for the US as I'd thought.
    • Good point, though if they win today they squeak out of direct relegation, I think. Still, as you say, better to stay in Championship another year than in Serie B. Serie A is a totally different matter as the level of play would be excellent for his development.
    • Udinese are currently in a relegation spot. I don't think a move from the Championship to Serie B would be an upgrade.
    • Only watched this highlight package paying special attention to Bombito and I thought his defensive awareness was not totally convincing. The give and go between Acosta and Baird on Cincinnati's first goal goes right around Bombito. It is a nice play, so I'm not sure how much blame he gets for this one. At 3:38 in the video, after the Colorado turnover, the team is not perfectly positioned defensively, so Bombito should follow Kubo there when he makes that run. I'm not sure if he is trying to play offside there, or just ball watching too much. On Cincy's second goal, Bombito is tracking Baird's run and then just stops and allows Baird to get in behind him. He shouldn't be stepping to the ball that high up the pitch, especially with his teammate recovering. At 4:30, I'm not sure if the disallowed goal is eventually ruled off for hand ball or offside, but again he allows two men to float by. Maybe I'm being overly harsh, and perhaps my years as a central midfielder don't give me the necessary knowledge to finely critique centre back play, but those are just my thoughts. I will continue to be keeping my eyes on him though.
    • It's bizarre to you because it's not what you want to hear. Keep being a hater dipshit.
    • Fair points about TFC. Can't catch em all to be sure. As far as Manitoba goes I'd say it's a multi-faceted issue that has a lot to do with lack of quality coaching, lack of quality competition and lack of facilities during our long winters. Basically a lack of opportunities as you said.  When WSA Winnipeg (now FC Manitoba) arrived in 2010 things began to change and a number of decent products from Winnipeg/Manitoba have gone through that system: Ali Musse, Kyle Heibert, Dylan Carreiro. The Whitecaps also came along in 2015 and formed a developmental partnership with the MSA. Also, in the last 10 years there have been 2 full sized indoor soccer complexes built and another nearly full-sized one as well. Finally, partially because of what WSA began in 2010, more seriously dedicated academies have begun to be a thing here in Manitoba, and in turn the level of competition and coaching has been increasing for our younger players. As far as I know 5 Winnipeggers have played for Valour: Tyler Attardo, Dylan Carreiro, Marco Bustos, Tyson Ferrago, and Dylan Sacramento. For Canada, Heibert, Kianz Froese, Bustos off the top of my head. Valour does very little in terms of development for our province. They've hosted a few 4 day camp type things for kids in the summer. They are "affiliated" with a number of youth academies in the city but I'm really not sure what that entails, if anything. They also have open tryouts every year so the opportunity to play professionally is there. Unfortunately, the club's lack of community and fan engagement is prevalent at all levels. Hope that changes but I'm not holding my breath.
    • Little has been said about this on here but Montreal is quietly off to a good start this year. On 10 points and tied for the last playoff spot but with a game in hand on most above them. Plus they have played 7 of the first 9 on the road. I think they already have about as many points on the road as they did all of last year.  Tbh, all 3 Canadian sides are off to good starts all things considered.
