Maybe slightly smaller crowds with a little less enthusiasm  lol

West Hills Stadium. It too is undergoing a major transformation in order to host a CPL club. The stadium will increase in capacity from 1500 to 7500 seats, with steep intimate seating and all the extra perks that are required for a professional set up.

Are there any tickets left for opening day in the visitors section of this professional set up?

With only 6 months left before the inaugural CPL season kicks off, I'm curios how many of the 7 announced clubs will have a sell-out crowd on hand for their home opener?

1) Yes __ - No __  Cavalry FC

2) Yes __ - No __  FC Edmonton

3) Yes __ - No __  Forge FC

4) Yes __ - No __  HFX Wanderers FC

5) Yes __ - No __  Pacific FC

6) Yes __ - No __  Valour FC

7) Yes __ - No __  York 9 FC

And what are the chances of any not-yet-announced clubs having a full house for their home opener?

? Yes __ - No __  _________

Who cares.

It is what ever it is.

The only thing that matters is how you will help to grow it.

I care.

Because it's important.

Don't lay that on me. I'm not going to make or break the CPL.

1) 05,000 - Spruce Meadows (Cavalry FC)

2) 05,000 - Clarke Stadium (FC Edmonton)

3) 23,218 - Tim Hortons Field (Forge FC)

4) 07,000 - Wanderers Ground (HFX Wanderers FC)

5) 07,500 - Westhills Stadium (Pacific FC)

6) 33,234 - Investors Group Field (Valour FC)

7) 03,700 - York Lions Stadium (York 9 FC)

X) 84,652 - Total Capacity

Over/Under - Total attendance for 7 home openers 42,326

Over/Under - Total attendance for 7 second home games 35,000 (Attendance numbers always drop after the home opener)

My prediction - Under on both lines.

Apologies, I didn't realize you were trying to talk about something.

That's all right. Apology accepted. I now know that you need to understand something, or else it gets taken down. No hard feelings on this end, my friend.?

Shouldn’t we also use seating capacities that are accurate for the other 5 stadia (in other words, once they are actually built and/or renovated which applies to all five).

I used the current seating capacity information provided by Wikipedia. No doubt, different sources will give different numbers. Whether or not the capacities of these stadiums increase between now and 6 months from now, make no difference as I'll still stick with the same Over/Under lines previously given. And if the stadiums turn out to have larger capacities than the numbers I have provided, and the total aggregate attendance for the 7 home openers exceeds the current 84,652 number, then hey, I guess everyone on this forum will be happier than a pig in ____.

While we're on the topic of attendance, like what part of marketing one's product doesn't the CSA get? We just had a televised "B" international against a nothing country like Dominica. The crowd of 10,253 Torontonians that showed up to watch this little more than an exhibition match looked pretty sparsely distributed in the 30,000 seats at BMO Field. That's two out of three seats that are empty! Like for a meaningless "B" international, why doesn't the CSA express its gratitude to the Voyageurs by having them sit right in the middle section facing the TV cameras for $10 a seat? Their gonna make the same gate revenues anyway, and at least the place would look like its rocking, as the CSA always tries so desperately to make these matches appear in their doctored-up promotional pictures.

I actually expect Hamilton to have a great showing for their first game. I can see 10,000+ for them. Halifax will probably sell out its first game too, so that's 6,200.

Is that the official capacity for Wanderers Grounds coming from the club?

Seems like they're all pretty much in the same ballpark:

1) "no fewer than 5,000 - http://hfxwanderersfc.canpl.ca/stadium-profile

2) 7,000 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wanderers_Grounds

3) Halifax will probably sell out its first game too, so that's 6,200.

The 6,200 number comes from the fact they had a sellout for the Canada vs USA rugby match, and the official attendance was 6,200.

Of course the numbers may change slightly with a new configuration, but we know it's at minimum 6,200.

I agree. York Lions Stadium is definitely the CPL's weak sister when it comes to capacity alone. Add to the fact that York 9 FC will basically be competing in the same market as Canada's most successful and popular professional football club and you indeed have a worrisome situation on your hands.
