Daniel
quote:Originally posted by Calgary Boomer This looks really good. They're putting seats in all the stands, no? Yes. In the first preview pic (in the main stand), you can see a seat in the bottom-right corner.

Vancouver Fan
Looking good. I like the pitch too. Those blue waves on one of the stands would be perfect for Vancouver.

Daniel
Quick update: new lighting system and progress all around. http://www.boutiquemeteo.com/saputo/stadesaputo.htm The Impact logo is going in next week:
Calgary Boomer
I'm guessing the Impact logo will make up the missing patch. I can't believe how good the field looks already. Was the concrete bank of seating to the left already there?
Daniel
Indeed, that will make the logo. Here's what the pre-existing structure looked like on April 19th:

jimmynow
Are the dressing rooms going to be in the new building in the corner or are they under the stand with the roof?
rodfern2007
quote:Originally posted by jimmynow Are the dressing rooms going to be in the new building in the corner or are they under the stand with the roof? I think the players will get dressed over at the Olympic Swimming Pool facility at the foot of the Olympic Stadium. I can just see it now, the players running up the path from the swimming pool, roughly about 200 to 300 yard, past the ticket stand to the soccer field:D
CanadianSoccerFan
are those little bunkers for the benches?
rodfern2007
quote:Originally posted by CanadianSoccerFan are those little bunkers for the benches? I think those are elongated hot tubs for when players get hurt or bruise their muscles, they could go in, soak up some warm water to soothe their aching bodies,..., and then get back into the game, lol:D. Just kidding. Actually yes, those will serve as benches, just like those you see in Europe (eg. Barcelona).
Mpenza
The dressing rooms are in the new building yes. To access the field, the players will walk under the main stand and come out by one (or both?) of the pre-existing access points in the main stand. Gaetan Cormier
Indeed, The room of the players will be in the new building. Under the concrete stand there are toilets for spectators. That's what I was told by the foreman.
jimmynow
they connected the hallways under the old concrete stand with the new building? by the way, where are the food/drink buildings?
Gaetan Cormier
quote:Originally posted by jimmynow they connected the hallways under the old concrete stand with the new building? by the way, where are the food/drink buildings? Nah! I don't think that they connected the hallway to the new building, I don't really see a use of this and it would of been costly for nothing. Food and drink they should be found at the corners or maybe under the stands who knows!
jimmynow
oh ok, someone above said the players will walk "under" the main stand to come out on the field, so I assumed those hallways were connected to the new building. not sure how else they can walk under it
Mpenza
Well, I was told a couple of months ago that the players would come on the field from inside under the main stand... But if the foreman of the construction site said it's not gonna happen, go with his word. I was once told there'd be a pub onsite too, so... Calgary Boomer
That looks REALLY good. That footage from above is pretty cool too. When the roof is done and the seats are put in the concrete part, it's going to look even better than BMO field. Interesting how low the breezeways are on the stand opposite the roofed one.
