PJSweet
Who do you think will do as an excellent commissioner for the league? One name that has been throwing around recently is Ralph Krueger.
PJSweet
Today, Duane Rollins has mentioned former Canadian international Alex Bunbury as potential commissioner.
matty
Krueger won't be. He wants to stay with Southampton and if he does leave NHL teams want him. Scott Mitchell is the number 1 contender according to Milton. But yea I think it's too soon to guess
Rheo
This will be interesting for sure. Nothing but a guess on my part but I thought Beirne might be in the running for it.
GuillermoDelQuarto
Yea I was pretty much just assuming it was Beirne
Kent
I am going to guess it'll be someone named Gordon, so we can call him Commissioner Gordon.
youllneverwalkalone
Don't care for the guy but, if we actually need a commissioner, Paul Barber would do an excellent job.
Ivan
Who is Paul Barber?

I believe he gave Beirne his shot there. His claim to fame with the Caps (other than pissing off some supporters) was negotiating a $4m per year sponsorship with Bell. BrennanFan
The Bunbury thing is real. Let's hope it happens. He's someone the whole country respects and would get behind.

I also have a petty/immature resistance to the idea based on the whole Teal thing. But, yeah, I would think a really strong business development background would be magnitudes more important than some degree of Canadian soccer street cred. As much as I dislike Betman, the NHL owners at least think he is qualified enough to to keep him in place, and he certainly strikes me as more of a businessman than a former hockey phenom. Ansem
After reading this: https://www.thestar.com/sports/tfc/...e_leaves_as_mlse_rings_in_another_change.html Paul Beirne knows how to start a successful team. Look at what he did for Toronto FC which was the successful model on expansion teams. TFC was crap on the field but out of the field, it was done right. (marketing, right market and not suburban moms, no gimmicks, free-fest etc...) You need a guy like him to shepherd the start of the league and teams, I think as he can help them and tell them what to do and what not to do etc... Once the league's expansion is over and it thrives, then you get a commissioner that's more business minded to take the whole thing to the next level. Just an opinion
