Canada Soccer has selected 23 players for a six-day Men's U-17 evaluation camp in Toronto, Ontario. The 2016 camp runs 24-29 October with eight on-field sessions planned over the course of the week.

Canada's 23 players are all born 2000 or later, making them eligible for next year's CONCACAF and FIFA U-17 competitions. Many of the players in this group have been part of Canada Soccer's men's national youth program since 2014.

Canada Soccer has announced their player squad for the Men's U-17 International Series in Jamaica. The Canadian squad will face their CONCACAF rivals on 27 and 29 November 2016 in Clarendon and Kingston, respectively.

Adding the official roster list for the U-17 qualifiers. All of these players are from the Class of 2000 birth year. Would expect 2 or 3 of them to emerge as future core national team players. But which ones? Anyone have perspective on the key players we should watch?

Sounds like there will be some camps/tournaments for the 2000s this year. Time to start refreshing this list. Have any of the 2000s - besides Alphonso Davies - started to emerge from this group?

Alessandro Hojabrpour is playing in Bulgaria.

Julian Dunn-Johnson got minutes with TFC2 in USL last season. Antonio Rocco Romeo and Noble Okello are also signed to TFC2 for the 2018 season.

Michael Baldisimo got minutes with Whitecaps 2 in USL but looks like he is being sent back down to Whitecaps Residency for 2018.

Any updates on Jonathan David?

I thought Doe got into a handful of games for Edmonton at the end of the season. Dukuly as well got a cup of coffee with the eddies before they shut the doors. Oops, these guys are 2001's.

As others have said it's still really early, but I'd highlight Julian Dunn-Johnson, Jake Ruby and Jose Hernandez.

-Dunn-Johnson is a + athlete who could be a ten year MLS player if his defensive abilities develop properly.

-Jake Ruby is the best defender in the Caps academy and is one of the few academy players to regularly train with VWC2 last season...has offers from many of the best NCAA teams, but is a pretty good bet for a HG deal.

-Jose Hernandez is doing very well in the USSDA against mostly 18 year olds (4 goals/3 assists in 6 starts after being called up from the u17s).

Also worth noting that Rocco Romeo and Jordan Faria both turned down big NCAA colleges to pursue professional opportunities.

Listed as a forward for TFCIII. Scored for Canada at the last U17 tournament, I believe. Don't know anything more about him or Noble Okello. Looks like TFC is developing a nice generation of players with strong upside - and hopefully one or two of them turn into national team contributors.

Both former CMNT u17 players. From what I've seen, both are ++ athletes but aren't great technically. Hopefully, Wolfsburg takes a chance on them. Wolfsburg and Shalke have had a lot of MLS academy kids on trial recently though, don't think any have signed yet.
