Who getting carried away? The league *exists*. It has excited for 5 years. Fans in 8 more cities across the country can attend professional soccer. It *is* a success already. The owners know how many people are attending, and what they're paying to attend. They can share that data, along with viewership number, with sponsors to sell advertising. Those are the *only* people the "true" numbers matter to. They're the ones who use then to make business decisions, because it's *their business*. (I don't buy the "if they announce more they have to pay more taxes". I think that's an outdated concept from when we used paper accounting. The CRA isn't reading Twitter or the newspaper, cross referencing ticket prices and sending a bill. They have access to electronic proof of actual dollars) Aird25, narduch, Pottsy3 and 1 other
shermanator
Meanwhile in Calgary, switching supporters bars to the Ship and Anchor in the offseason was a resounding success if the first watch party is any indication. The area we had "reserved" for the watch party was full long before kickoff and probably had double the capacity hanging around during the game. Place went apeshit when the Cantave goal went in. Captured this 30 minutes before kickoff. Had lots of inquiries pregame about where to watch the game as well and some inquiries on the supporters busses for the first game. The first game always does well, but this was beyond our expectations. Good to see after struggling for a few years with our old supporters bar. masster, WestHamCanadianinOxford, jonovision and 3 others 5

He is going to do this every weekend and have the most negative take on every outcome (except Halifax). Then he'll play the victim card "i was widely ridiculed by the usual suspects", when people get sick of it. narduch
