He might have a Caribbean mutiny on his hands.

The Caribbean Football Union, who represent 31 of CONCACAF's 41 national associations, are considering breaking away and forming a seventh FIFA confederation.

They see this as a way of improving their TV revenues, which have been squeezed by three successive CONCACAF presidents from Caribbean countries facing numerous corruption charges that include allegedly helping themselves to the region's TV rights money.

I know this is old, but I just saw it.  It is an odd concept that the solution to Caribbean-based corruption would have been to isolate the region so that it was subject to even less oversight and external scrutiny...

Even though Vic was unopposed it's telling that nobody ran against him.  I think the Caribbean nations that control the vote clearly see this guy is doing good things for them.  Expanding the Gold Cup and creating the Nations League has expanded the horizons of Caribbean football far more than Jack Warner and Jeffrey Webb ever did.  Jason Roberts' opening speech last night dwelling on the fact he only got 12 caps for Grenada due to lack of playing opportunities just about sums it up.

Probably didn't hurt that the Caribbean got to keep their Champions League spot while all of Central America lost their spots.

I don't think so. Standard practice is that you have the job until you get arrested.

haven't the last 3 presidents been indicted, most notably Jack Warner of T&T and his FIFA corruption scandal

Proud to say that a Canadian has finally restored faith in CONCACAF's administration

InsideWorldFootball.com writer Paul Nicholson published several hit pieces on Montagliani in the past but appears to have totally changed his tune.  This article has good info on CONCACAF's finances and the possibility of non-FIFA members gaining membership at the next congress.

Watch now that this has been said tomorrow night a cop in Kamloops pulls over Vic's car and finds a lot of crack cocaine. Vic tries to run but is tackled in front of a bunch of TRU students who tape him getting arrested and crying and it turns out he was siphoning cash from Anguilla's cheques.
