Sounds like Hume had a role in both goals and a chance for the leveling goal.

Hume took a free-kick short to Gudjonsson, who held off Darel Russell and lashed the ball past Steve Simonsen from 25 yards out.

Hammond broke off to the right and as Hume passed, Broomes' slip allowed the former Fulham man the space he needed to drive the ball back across goal to restore the lead.

Hume gave the home fans another nervous moment as he got in behind the Stoke defence and curled past the post with Simonsen beaten.

Final score: 2-2.

They came back to tie, then the home side got a goal on a header (their big defensive problem, crosses to headers), and Paok, a man down for the last part of the game, got their goal three minutes from time. Still, they really need to get a few wins in a row in the league to stay close to the Champions spots.

Next up this midweek, Rennes at home in a meaningless UEFA game.

Radz goes 90 but Fulham fall to Birmingham 1-0.

Stalteri plays on Sunday.

No Simpson for Millwall as they lose, nor Pesch for Derby in their draw, nor Brennan for Norwich, and de Vos with 90 for Ipswich who draw 2-2 late against QPR, without Bircham. De Vos, as reported, scored the first goal for his team to make it 1-1 first half, on a header.

DeGuzman played the full 90 for Feyenoord, with Feyenoord beating PSV 1-0 on a Kuyt goal.

DeGuzman played on the right side of midfield in a midfield 3, playing box to box, but more defensively minded. Made some nicely weighted passes and took the last corner kick for Feyenoord. Actually, PSV sent Gomesn their 'keep, into the box during two corner kicks in the last moments of the 2nd half. Almost got burned for it on the second attempt, as Kalou almost scored on the break.

Anyway, DeGuzman played well.

On the Iberian penninsula Julian de Guzmán did not get on in Depor's 1-0 win over Cadiz, taking them up to a tie for fourth in Spain with three other teams. That is his second straight game without minutes, displaced by Victor in the attacking midfield, with Duscher and Sergio in the holding mid spots he occasionally plays in.

Fernando Aguiar played 82 until subbed out in Gondomar's 2-1 loss to Marco in Portugal's Liga de Honra (2nd). They are six back of the leaders, Beira Mar.

No full report for Marco Bras' team Pampilhosa, who lost 3-2 to Rio Maoir in the C Division of the third tier.

I hope Peters starts getting some more playing time. The whole incentive to go to Ipswich instead of Chelsea or other EPL teams that wanted him was to get first team playing time. As it is, might was well be playing for the Chelsea reserves than the Ipswich ones.

Doubt he'd even be a regular with the Chelsea Reserves.

De Guzman catches the eye

Tottenham and Chelsea were just two of the five Premiership teams represented at Sunday's Eredivisie clash between PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord.

It is highly likely that a clutch of players came under the microscope at De Kuip, among them Alex, Ismael Aissati, Dirk Kuyt, Salomon Kalou and Jefferson Farfan.

The quintet are among the biggest names in the Eredivisie, but they were overshadowed on the day by starlet Jonathan de Guzman.

Feyenoord think the world of the 18-year-old and he showed his class on Sunday when winning the midfield battle with PSV star Philip Cocu.

The Rotterdammers are unlikely to let de Guzman move on without a fight, but if he continues to progress at his current rate they are likely to be flooded with offers.

Bras played 90 again for his team on day 11 of the season, though the team has only played 9 so far. A player named "Jeffrey" subbed on in the second half for them, oddly enough I have seen that name in Spain, think there is one at second division Sporting Gijon.

Barça has a youth player whose name is "Baby", that is how the reports render his name.

Fernandes played 90, supposedly in bad weather conditions. The team got their first win in UEFA competitions in the last few years, and finally got a few goals (fourth on a penalty, first on an early own goal). Frei, the Swiss international, came on after Rennes scored to make it 2-1.

Now they have to put Europe behind them and concentrate on getting some league results, they are a team with a tight defence but could use a few more goals.

No de Jong for Helmond Sport, who beat Den Bosch tonight. A bit of a surprise as he is a regular starter and the rival is a strong team. Perhaps he has a knock, or the coach is exploring options?

Hampton & Richmond Borough 3-0 Hillingdon Borough

Jon Henry-Hayden scored as Hampton comfortably won this Middlesex Senior Cup second round match against opponents two tiers below them in the pyramid. Henry-Hayden was subbed out in the 77th minute, and Elliott Godfrey was rested.
