Characters. Hmmmm. Let's take a look at the characters that have coached our national team since we started competing in World Cup competition. We've had: 8 Canadian coaches - we all know Canadian coaches aren't exactly in high demand internationally! 5 English coaches - Canadian soccer has absolutely nothing in common with English soccer! 2 German coaches - Canadian soccer has absolutely nothing in common with German soccer! 1 Scottish coach - what has Scotland ever done internationally? 1 Trinidadian coach - what has Trinidad ever done internationally? 1 Portuguese coach - Canadian soccer has absolutely nothing in common with Portuguese soccer! 1 Spanish coach - Canadian soccer has absolutely nothing in common with Spanish soccer! 1 Ecuadorean coach - what has Ecuador ever done internationally? So that leaves Dutch coaches. Why haven't we ever tried a Dutchman as a coach for the national team? What do we have in common with the Dutch. Well, for starters were both small fry in big ponds. The Dutch are a small country at the elite level, while Canada is a small country at the not so elite level. However, while the Dutch have figured out is how a small country can be successful against the bigger boys, Canada meanwhile continues to fuck around and struggle at the minnow level of CONCACAF! Why not hire someone who is used to working in an small environment, and knows how to be successful in the big-times? John has been out of a job for a couple of months already. Now would be the perfect time for the CSA to contact him. You don't really expect a woman's coach to be able to do a men's coaching job, do you? Although, knowing the CSA, it won't matter how poorly John Herdman's does with the CMNT over the next year, because he doesn't have to earn the right to be Canada's coach at the 2026 World Cup Final, because he already has that job wrapped up no matter what!!! BTW it's Ship, not Schip.

Anyhow, I'm not about to start a discussion on "Oud Nederlands." You can dodge the key facts all you want with your meaningless banter. The fact (at least the one that matters) remains that John van 't Schip/Ship. is out of a job. Former Dutch international Jaap Stam has taken over at PEC, although after starting out with 3 consecutive victories with PEC, he will be moving to Feijenoord/Feyenoord this summer. Anyhow, I have long given up on Canadians listening to the experience of others. Obviously, Canadians really know what the fuck they're doing when it comes to soccer, right? It is also a fact that John Herdman ain't (I know, wikipedia will tell you that's not good English) gonna do Jack Shit with the National Team once we face Costa Rica, Honduras or the likes. Getting a result against French Guiana will be as good as it gets under his tenure! SpecialK
John Van't Schip is Canadian ! John “happy planet world bullshitter” Herdman is not ! We should be pushing harder for Van't Schip hiring! Canadians should be supporting Canadians! Not English pompous pricks who force their way by threatening to leave one program for another. This would never happen in real soccer nations. The best part he wasn’t threatening to leave for another men’s nations squad. It was for the women’s English team. Man they should make a movie about that. If herdman falls at the GC - off with Herdman’s , Reed’s and that slimy looking Montopoli ( man that guy looks creepy ! Wannabe mobster ! ) heads !!! Club Linesman
For better or worse he is our manager right now. Don’t like how he got the position but it is done and the CSA won’t be dropping him unless we fail to qualify for 2022. The only way he is gone after the Gold Cup is if we get destroyed in all round robin games, and with the talent we now possess that would be an impossibility. I have a gut feeling even if we don’t qualify for 2022 he’ll still be there. But if FIFA is really making it to 48 teams. Like if you really feel like you have to publicly behave like a crazy bitchy stupid girlfriend, why not go all the way and promise us that Canada will win the World Cup in 2026??? I'm sure that the ink on Herdman's CSA contract, tying him to the MNT until after the 2026 World Cup Final, dried the day he made his prediction!
