I’m in New York, the bar was playing this game. There’s a Yankees - Red Sox game tonight, but for whatever reason, the bar decided it was Cavalry - HFX time

I cannot possibly see what the reason for the call was. Seems completely incorrect - another game-deciding refereeing decision against the Wanderers.

Whistle sounded long before the ball got to Nimick.  GK did not even move as he had heard the whistle.  Not sure what the reason was but the play was dead.

Definitely the unfortunate part.  The delivery was perfect but the whistle was clearly before and that affected the situation.

Gheisar was really upset about it post match.  Another unsolved reffing mystery.

One trend I’ve noticed is the refs in this league tend to get more involved than they need to.  Last night there was constant bickering over the throw in a free kick spots… it’s ok to assert yourself once or twice a game as the ref but every time is too much… as the old adage goes, just let them play.
