FC Edmonton 2017 season

Recommended Posts

Hopefully with Mckendry Edmonton can play as a more cohesive unit. With both Mckendry and Fordyce Edmonton should be a lot stronger this fall season. Whether it will be enough to fight for a top spot is still to be seen. I personally think it is to little to late.

One thing to note is that Mckendry is not your typical Collin Millar player. He works hard, but he is also CREATIVE! Yay! Hopefully CM doesn't smash that out of him...

Seems like the club is looking to next year

“I don’t think it’s ever done,” said Miller. “It’s an ongoing thing and we’re looking at next year already. If the right player comes in who can help the squad, the funds have been made available. But it has to be the right one. And it’s difficult at this moment in time because we’re offering short-term deals and not every player wants to come in and earn Canadian dollars on a short-term deal. So we’re looking at loans and maybe someone who wants to come in and get his career going again, it could be something like that. But the irons are out there, but it’s not as easy as everybody would think.”

Edmonton should have one big hyped well marketed match at commonwealth every year

Draw 20-25.000 and bump attendance closer to the break even number of 9000

It worked for the allouettes in the CFL

Ya! They should do that every time they beat Ottawa in the Voyageur Cup and play an MLS team! Oh... wait...

FCE needs to be better out of the gate

Win, lose or draw, there’s been a very noticeable pattern to FC Edmonton’s games this fall season.

The Eddies will start on the back foot, and get stronger as the game goes on. But, there have been occasions where the team digs too big a hole for itself to climb out of. Last week, the Eddies trailed 2-0 at halftime to San Francisco, and ended up losing 2-1. It was a game that coach Colin Miller said could have seen the Eddies trailing by three goals within the first 15 minutes.
