Early days and already desperate Ipswich host Hull City at Portman Road. Both de Vos and Peters in the starting 11. Peters at right wing it looks like.

Oh, look at that. Just underway at Pride Park and super sub Paul Peschisolido gets a rare start. Well done Old Man.

Dodds on the bench as Kili are away to Falkirk this afternoon.

Big Kev, sorry CAPTAIN Kevin McKenna is on the pitch as Cottbus host Hamburg and are down 1-nil. Has to be getting on to half time in this match.

Late starts as usualy in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Not sure how much he played in pre-season, but he had suffered an ankle injury very early on. Whether he's still ailing or Lee playing right back is a tactical maneuver I've no idea. If anyone hasn't caught on yet, I'm not a Lee fan. Not at all.

Kili get the late goal and the maximum points beating Falkirk away 2-1. Rhian Dodds sub’ing in for Allan Johnson in the ‘77th.

Big Kev goes the 90 as Hamburg come from behind to draw Cottbus 2-2. Hamburg finished the match a man down, for violent conduct it seems. Wonder what that’s all about?

Rob Friend starts as Heerenveen are away to ADO Den Haag. Kickoff just under way.

Wild and wooly one at the “Zuinderpark” as Heerenveen come from behind with an added time goal to defeat ADO Den Haag 3-2. Friend went the 90 but didn’t score.

De Jong also went 90 as the score line holds in the Roda-Excelsior fixture, Roda winning 1-nil on a Christian Gyan own goal in the 1st half.

And Start knock out LSK in Norwegian Cup quarterfinals, scoring in the 119th minute. The other headline from the game is Occean's use of his elbow. After receiving a yellow for it early on, he was called for elbowing several more times throughout the game, which had the negative effect of motivating the Start players. Occean's in a bit of a slump lately, hope he can pull himself out of it soon.

Blerim Rrustemi went 90 for Gladbach II in their first win of the season. As noted in other threads, 18 year old Jonathan Bourgault made his first team debut for FC St. Pauli in a 2-1 win, coming on in the 77th minute.

In MLS, De Rosario, Serioux and Onstad all went 90 minutes in a 3-1 loss for the Houston Dynamo to Real Salt Lake. Serioux scored the Houston goal. This Jack Stewart character played 90 for Real Salt Lake. What's his Canadian connection again? His bio says he was called into the USA U-20 and U-18 camps previously.

Re; Stalteri's absence from the Bolton match.

Yeah I've looked around and I can't see any mention of an injury. Maybe he's not in Spurs long term plans any more.

Speculating, but I think it's more of a injury recovery issue.

Going to guess Jol gave Diesel a bit more time off in order to have a look see at Assou-Ekotto. Who I thought had an aweful match. But at least he's left footed, and Jol will certainly give him an opportunity to adjust to the English game.

I know it's only the 1st fixture of the year, but if Lee is cover for Paul then odviously Jol has a pretty big hole to plug. Maybe Lee will be able to adjust to right back over the season, don't know. But just on his speed, and sometimes reckless want to go forward he is an attacking alternative at right back. The question being is the cost too high, and who can you play him against?

Will Johnson wasn't dressed for SC Heerenveen and Wagenaar wasn't for ADO den Haag (but in his case it was due to an administrative mistake).
