Blue and White Army
Heh, someone's posted a message on the Bash message board asking why he hasn't had more first-team playing time, calling him a "Canadian u-20 prospect".
Guest Jeffery S.
As Deportivo is like saying "Sport Club", better to put Deportivo La Coruña for de Guzman's upcoming club. Great list as usual guys.

lynx
this is for Joe Mc Carthy. Regarding info on a Gavin Russell. He is u/16 and has been playing with Shelbourne FC youth team since September of last year. Since the club does not post any info on its junior teams you will not be able to find any info on him. If you require any further information on him you can e-mail me.

Guest Jeffery S.
It seems Srdjan Djekanovic had a trial and could get another look next summer with a team from Scotland. Not Premier, lower division, but it seems it went well. He is now playing amateur in Vancouver waiting out possibilities.
Blue and White Army
Joe M, I'm pretty sure you're mistaken about Graham MacLean playing for Paulton Rovers. That was two or three years back. Ivan
Anyone know where Giancarlo DiSano is from? I had not heard of him before. Judging by his presence on the Dallas Cup U18 roster, he is being considered for Holland. Edit: Sorry, I see on the other thread he is from Quebec. stephen smith
As i am new to this forum , i find it quite interesting how many canadian players do play (or Trial) in Europe. As far as the squad chosen for the Dallas Cup, my sources say they are just looking at 2 new players to ad to the holland roster.
Guest Jeffery S.
An interesting find, looking at sinosoc.com I see that Tony Menezes is no longer with the same team. He does not appear here on the squad list: http://www.sinosoc.com/match/teamDetail.asp?id=28 The season is already under way in Jia B, played a few games. Wonder where he may be, anyone heard anything of a move within China for him? Or back in Canada?

Brian Halliday of Inside Soccer said there were more Canadians in Europe than Americans. Not sure if it is true but it is kind of a well kept secret about how many we do have. Dale Mitchell said on Inside Soccer that he is going with the 18 that were in qualifying. I would expect him to add David Edgar (who was injured) and possibly Andrea Lombardo, maybe Dylan Hughes. Of the guys on the list who weren't already in qualifying, the two names that stand out are Kerr McLeod and G-L DiSano. Di Sano looks to be a new find (I've seen most of the other names before). Wasn't McLeod also the player who Holger found in Saskatchewan and thought he would be the next big thing in Canadian soccer. I thought Holger had a good eye (he did play a young Atiba) as Yallop played a young Peters.

The only one that i differ on is that we have more players than the Americans playing in Europe. I believe the biggest reason is that a good percentage of the Canadians playing in Europe come from Parents or Grandparents that have EU passports and this makes it easier for our kids compared to our friends south of the border. The question that i have is how many of these kids currently playing in Europe that are not capped can compete at the International level? What is the situation with our U-17 team? Have they Qualified for the U-17 Championships? I heard they have a couple of good players from Ontario and a couple from Quebec.
Ivan
Stephen, qualifying for the U17 World Cup, to be held in September, will take place in Mexico in April. There is a previous thread on this but you may have to go back a few pages. There appears to be lots of players with potential on this team. They recently completed a successful warmup tourney in Italy where they reached the semi-finals against Italian club youth teams.
