Kanadaiakat tesztel a Lombard FC

2005. január 17. 17:30:11

Napi két edzéssel készülnek a Lombard FC labdarúgói. Együtt gyakorol a többiekkel négy kanadai játékos is.

A 21 éves Jeremy Shephard tagja a kanadai felnõttválogatott keretének, a Hertha korosztályos csapataiban nevelkedett.

Matthew O’Connor az elsõ osztályú Toronto Lynxtõl érkezett, Marko Bedentkovic pedig a szintén torontói Croatiában szerepelt. Christian Picanco a kínai Klijanban profiskodott.(nso.hu)

Lombard-Pápa TFC is currently in 13th place (out of 16) in the Hungarian top tier. There might be some confusion arising from the splitting of the league later in the season. The top six teams play a championship round while the botton six teams play a relegation round. Lombard will likely end up in the relegation round play judging from their current standing.

Guest Jeffery S.

I haven't seen Kevin de Serpa in a single line-up for Lousada this year, and think I checked at least up to mid-December. Will keep looking.

And Bras at Naval, same story, but this is going on maybe two seasons. Really wonder if these guys are permanently benched. At least de Serpa has a contract with Penafiel, guarantees a living at least.

The last I've found on Bras is him being at Lusitania in Apr 2004. FM2005 has him at a club named Pampilhosa (same with another Can-Por player Miraldo), but that's just a computer game so who knows where he really is.

Who would have guessed that a video game would help us locate a Canadian player? I did a google search for Pampilhosa and I found out that Marco Bras was on the bench for them for a Cup game against Sporting at the beginning of the month:

FC Pampilhosa plays in the "II Divisão B - Zona Centro" I have no idea what tier that is.

Good find. I think that's a division within tier three - their third division is subdivided regionally.

December 2004 - Toronto, Canada -- EduKick President, Corey Zimmerman, has confirmed this month that Carmelo Rago Jr. has been invited by Italian professional soccer club, A.C. Perugia (Serie B), to a two-week trial beginnng January 10, 2005. Says Zimmerman, "Carmelo played last year with the Edmonton Aviators of the North American "A" League and prior to that he played for Puerto Montt, of the Chilean First Division for a season...and he is only 18 still!" Zimmerman continued, "Carmelo also has an Italian Passport so it was easy for us to call AC Perugia and request that they give him a look. Assuming he shows well in Perugia, with his extensive experience, young age, and European passport..., I am confident that Carmelo will be retained by the club."

Rago, a duel Canadian/Italian citizen born and raised in Edmonton, Canada, was brought up in a traditional Canadian-Italian "soccer" family. His father, Carmelo Sr., played on a soccer scholarship years ago in the US and remains extremely passionate about the game today. Says Carmelo Jr, "My Dad was born in Italy and I always wanted to play there ever since I was a kid...I am pleased to have this opportunity now and I plan on making an impression there in Perugia...I want to make that team!" The 18 year old Rago will follow former EduKick Camper Davide Somma (19 years old) to Perugia; Somma went there on trial in October

Keep us posted with the latest developments. Rago's trial with Perugia is nearly coming to an end as of this week. Furthermore, Perugia is doing so well that they are presently in 2nd place in Serie-B, thus expecting (with all possibilities) to get promoted to Serie-A next year.

I think Canizales is still at Hannover. He is still listed on their site and a failed trial at a higher division club should not affect his status with Hannover's reserves. I would keep him listed with Hannover until we hear otherwise.

I'm pretty sure he is with Hannover amateurs as he scored in an indoor tournament for them on January 9th or 10th:

Junge Rote verpassen Halbfinale

10.1.2005

Jörg Goslar

Schade!

Guest Jeffery S.

After the above tip checked out Marco Bras at Pampillosa, he played almost every game as a starter to week 11, and since then I only see a full match on week 15, I imagine before Xmas. Has not played in the last month it seems. Would he have been released or transfered at the break? Or could he be injured?

The team is lower mid-table in Portugal 2B, Central division.

I see absolutly no presence of Kevin de Serpa in any game with Lousada this year.

The link I gave (http://tinyurl.com/7x6qz) shows Marco on the bench for a Jan. 4/05 match. Mind you, that doesn't mean that he hasn't left since then.

I just looked quick at www.abola.pt, go to Futebol 2005-05, then to the division in question, there is a section of "jornadas" and you can see the line-up each week. Some are not linked right. The team is not doing so hot so it could be he has lost his spot. But they are not exactly doing better since he is out, so who knows. Maybe they brought someone else in and are playing them.
