Congratulations Christine, someone this entire country can be proud of, winning gold for the first time. Could not be more happier for her after all that she has given to the game and beyond in this country.

Deserves the Balloon D’Or for her amazing career and courageous performance in guiding the team to a gold medal.  She has never even been a finalist so this is arguably the last chance to right what has been a glaringly large F up for about 16 years.  It wasn’t her best performance by a long shot but her career accomplishments need to be recognized.

The team gave her one hell of a departing gift.

Three names in serious contention for the Ballon d'Or will be Lawrence, Buchanan or Rolfo.

League excellence, Champions League excellence, Olympic excellence.

But again, it doesn't always go to who deserves it.
