Well struck indeed, glad Whitecaps let him go to make room for Jeb Brovsky. :(

Kimpero, is Randy Edwini-Bonsu starting to get noticed in Finland?

Well, his team has still got a slim chance of promotion, even though that doesn't seem very likely. FC Lahti are just too strong. I do however believe he has caught the eye of many top flight clubs, so a move seems more than likely to me. With a move to one of the better sides, a further move to a big league is very possible indeed. We've seen that with notable transfers to Germany, Belgium, Greece etc. this season.

Edwini-Bonsu has scored the 2nd most goals in the first division, which must be regarded as impressive.

Gavin McCallum starts for Lincoln today, agaisnt top of the table Gateshead.

Heh, I took Gateshead to the Championship on one of my Careers in Football Manager 2009. Fun times. Got immediately relegated to League 1 and fired. I guess back to back to back to back promotions with a team doesn't ensure job security.

Simpson went 90 and Klukowski was subbed out at 10 minutes (can’t find why) as Manisaspor tied Fenerbache 1-1 in a game where men were banned so 41 000 women and children showed up.

Punishment against Fenerbahce for fan violence. Instead of playing before an empty stadium, admission was free for women and children and men were prohibited.

A Cathal Kelly article for those who want more details and/or enjoy his moralizing: http://www.thestar.com/article/1056774--kelly-banning-men-novel-approach-to-fan-violence

I wonder if the women would have gotten along so well though if it was Fenerbahce and Besiktas? :-)

- Edgar gets 90 in a Carling Cup win for Burnley over MK Dons. Getting a good feeling about this season for him.

- Haber sits on the bench in the Scottish Cup even as his team loses 2-0 at home to St Mirren. Not getting a good feeling about him this season.

- Al-Shaibani played 90 for Nimes as they beat Paris FC 2-1

- Jordan Webb played 90 as his Hougang United played Albirex Niigata to a 2-2 away draw in the first leg of the semifinal of the Singapore Cup

Ladies Night in Istanbul

Opening Game Ceremony:

Highlights:

Simpson set up the Manisaspor goal and also scored the late goal that was called offside (and received a yellow card for still shooting into the net). There were 41 000 women and children at the game and they did a pretty good job of creating atmosphere:

Luca Bellisomo scored on the cusp of halftime for Mariehamn as they drew 1-1 with FC Haka, finishing with 10 men. Both he and Trafford played the full 90 minutes

Not a Canadian but I think many here might also recognize Mariehamn's keeper in this game, former Whitecap, Timbers, LA and DCU player Josh Wicks.

^ Frank Jonke and Randy Edwini-Bonsu have both scored goals in their matches, which are still in progress.

Canadian Goals in Finland Day. Riley O'Neill scored the second goal for MyPa to bring them level with Jonke's InterTurku but Inter has just scored a 3rd goal in the 90th minute to win the game 3-2. That was O'Neill's 5th goal of the season.
