It would be nice if De Jong has or can develop this skill. However, he has scored 11 goals in his 7 year professional career so far. I think he is pretty far from being described as someone who "scores pretty consistently off free kicks". Augsburg looks like a good candiate for promotion with 10/11 games left, if De Jong is getting minutes in the Bundesliga next year do you start him over Klukowski? Well it depends who performs for Canada. Thats all that really matters just look at Friend vs Gerba in 2008 but Marcel taking his game to the next level would definitely put him in the drivers seat especially with the fact that he's 5+ years younger than Kluko.
