Nice to know we have a left foot set piece taker who scores pretty consistently off free kicks

We need to find a few players who can score off free kicks left or right because that has been a problem for us for quite a while. It would be nice if De Jong has or can develop this skill. However, he has scored 11 goals in his 7 year professional career so far. I think he is pretty far from being described as someone who "scores pretty consistently off free kicks".

Incidentally, one of the forwards he was defending against has probably one of the worst names in football, Flamur Kastrati. :)

De Jong is putting together a nice string of games so far and certainly providing competition at the left back position for us. Augsburg looks like a good candiate for promotion with 10/11 games left, if De Jong is getting minutes in the Bundesliga next year do you start him over Klukowski?

Well it depends who performs for Canada. Thats all that really matters just look at Friend vs Gerba in 2008 but Marcel taking his game to the next level would definitely put him in the drivers seat especially with the fact that he's 5+ years younger than Kluko.
