CanadianSwede
If Toronto picks up Guevara, its goodbye Montreal and Vancouver. The first match is more than a month and a half away which leaves plenty of time for TFC to build chemistry. But with a midfield that could resemble Robert--Robinson--Edu--Guevara, these predictions given are wishful thinking. Heres how i think it will go. 27-May Montreal v. Toronto = 1 - 3 17-June Montreal v. Vancouver = 2 - 1 25-June Vancouver v. Montreal = 1 - 1 01-July Toronto v. Vancouver = 2 - 0 09-July Vancouver v. Toronto = 1- 2 22-July Toronto v. I am a Caps fan from back in the 70s so yes I am biased in their favor bigtime [8D] It was the most graceful way I could think of that my Caps could bow out (this year!). Given the pre-season prep I think Montreal is already ahead of both the others. I think it will be another very long season for TFC and their goal scoring drought will continue. It would be nice to see TFC have a better season than last year but winning less than 10 games seems to be in the cards for them.

How any predictions can be made when Montreal and Vancouver have not played a real game nor a game versus opponenets from the MLS is beyond me. I believe that most of the games will be close 1 goal differences and draws. Montreal will not be as good as what people are saying and Toronto will not be as bad. It will be very competitive. But as good as Montreal may be, they are nowhere near the quality of DC United, and yet some here are predicting that Toronto will lose by as much or worse to the Impact as they did in DC. Still, I can't wait for these games to start, and I'm planning on being in Montreal for the tournament opener. Should be a fun time for all three sets of fans. True. ultimately, the matches will be decided on the pitch. And, if you just look at squads, there is more top flight experienced on TFC that the other USL conterparts. The knock on MLS clubs in US open cup is that they haven't taken the matches seriously. That shouldn't be the case this time. finchster
I see a lot of TFC fans here complaining that other fans think their team is going to play terrible in the Voyagers Cup. Well Toronto has been playing terrible, just remember even though it was preseason Toronto lost to a USL team which John Carver called the worst performance he has ever seen. I am not here to debate which is a better team because obviously if TFC has a better payroll they SHOULD have a better team and they have access to better players. But if TFC keeps putting up these lack luster performances then I would have to give the nod to Montreal as the favorites from what I have seen so far. A lot can change from here till May, but even TFC fans have to admit Toronto does not impress anyone at the moment. I am not a fan of Montréal, I am a caps fan, and I think I am being generous when I award one win to them. If TFC plays better in the coming weeks before these games it could change As of today my predictions are W-D-L-PTS 2-1-1-7 Montreal 1-2-1-5 Toronto 1-1-2-4 Vancouver

jimmynow
if Carver plays his best starting 11 I really can't see vanny and mtl winning the games against TFC @ BMO. MLS teams have scored just 1 goal in 4 games there this season and really none of them has had many chances. even last season with a crappy team, TFC got 5 of its 6 wins at home and the goals were 17 for, 18 against there (8 for, 31 against on the road).
