McKendry starting for the Whitecaps against San Jose. Live stream here:

McKendry played the first half. Got beat to a header off a corner. Also had one really poor pass intercepted.

Adekugbe, Teibert and Piraux all played the second half. OK performances from them. Nothing great.

So, Marcel de Jong is trialing with Sporting KC right now. Without knowing much about how their roster sits as of today, I have to think that he has the skillset to be an every day starter in MLS.

If he signs he'd probably split time with Seth Sinovic, their usual LB, who is one of the better LBs in MLS.

The more I think of this the more I expect de Jong to force out Sinovic. Sinovic is a good player by MLS standards and proven in the league, which MDJ is not. But I think the better player will win out here.

I suppose we could see him at LM but I just have a gut feeling that will not be his primary position. Either way though he will see the field as a starter in some capacity I am certain.

Another thing to add, if it's the case of one over the other, MDJ has dead ball abilities which Sinovic does not possess. Another thing to consider.
