Free kick
Bolivia who won the boys U15 soccer gold medal is risking losing them after allegations that they used overaged players. Source: http://www.latercera.com/noticia/deportes/futbol/2010/09/688-289118-9-bolivia-puede-perder-oro-olimpico-por-adulteracion-de-edades.shtml I took a peek at this tournaments web page last week because I wanted to see if Canada sent team and who else was playing . Turns out, hardly anybody bothered to send team to this event. It take quite an act of desperation to knowingly skirt the rules of eligibility in order to succeed for an event like this. What kind of glory did they think they'd gain?..
The Ref
From what I understand FIFA decided that for the inaugural games soccer will be represented by one boys and one girls team from each confederation or something close to that. Maybe for next games there will be more countries which would bring up a problem of qualifications rather than just appointments.
Admin
Wasn't it Italy that sent tonnes of able bodied athletes to compete in the special olympics? I don't think much could be surprising after that.
