The two Kongsvinger goals were not Lars' fault. One was a penalty and the other was perfectly placed to his right hand side from inside of the penalty area. VIF is now just 4 behind Rosenborg with one extra game played

David Edgar subbed on at 67 min in Burnley 5-0 win over Gombak United (Singapore S League).

Thumping 5-0 Win and Now It`s Home & Away!

The Clarets got their Far East tour off to a flying start yesterday with a thumping 5-0 win against Singapore S League, Gombak United in the Tampines Stadium.

Burnley were frustrated for most of the first half but finally broke the deadlock with just three minutes to go before half-time. Elliott and Marney linked well to set up Ross Wallace to score his second goal of the pre-season friendly campaign. With the second-half underway it didn`t take long for the Clarets to extend their lead. A Wallace pass after 48 minutes found Chris Eagles who drove the ball home to put the Clarets 2-0 up. On the hour mark, it was 3-0 thanks to a Chris Iwelumo header from an Eagles cross.

Steve Thompson made it 4-0 in similar fashion this time the cross being provided by Elliott and the rout was completed on 77 minutes when Edgar was fouled in the box and awarded a penalty. Jay Rodriguez slotted home from the spot to make the final score 5-0.

The Burnley starting line-up and substitutes making an appearance was as follows:

Brian Jensen (Craig Mawson 76), Tyrone Mears (Richard Eckersley 67), Clarke Carlisle (Leon Cort 64), Andre Bikey (Michael Duff 64), Brian Easton (Danny Fox 46), Graham Alexander (David Edgar 67), Ross Wallace (Alex-Ray Harvey 67), Dean Marney (Kevin McDonald 64), Chris McCann (Wade Elliott 34), Chris Eagles (Jay Rodriguez 64), Chris Iwelumo (Steven Thompson 64).

Mckenna played the first half in Cologne's 0-0 draw with Arab side Al Hilal

Al-Shaibani played 90 min for Nimes in their 2-1 loss to AS Cannes: http://nimes-olympique-30.skyrock.com

He was apparently unlucky on the first goal by Koller, and the second was a penalty:

"Après un une-deux avec Scotto, le géant tchèque Koller trompait aux cinq mètres cinquante le malheureux Al-Shaïbani (0:1, 7'). Malgré une maîtrise du ballon de la part des Nîmois, ces derniers pêchaient dans l'avant-dernier geste et ne parvenaient pas à refaire leur retard."

edgar played 77 minutes for burnley against home united, another singapore league team (another 5-0 win)

interesting that edgar again played a holding midfield position in this game (CH).....the start of something new?

from the match report:

"And with David Edgar revelling in a holding midfield role and creating openings left and right, the Clarets were in total control."
