Time for a new thread - doh!

Beaucoup action this weekend for our boys in Deutschland.

Friday

Bundesliga 2

Borussia Moenchengladbach (1st) travel south to FC Augsburg (11th), with the usual tandem of Oliver Neuville and the GIANT Rob Friend up front. Some relief after last weekend's win, as BM were clinging to first place after a run of mediocre results after the break, but now can start to put some daylight between themselves and the also rans.

Live ticker here (click on the Live Ticker in "Hier geht's direkt zum Liveticker" on that page):

Josh Simpson finally returns after serving his 4 game suspension as his FC Kaiserlautern (16th) host SC Freiburg (7th). Patrice Bernier will be on the bench. Needless to say, they need a result. Use the bundesliga.de liveticker.

Regional League South

Sportfreude Siegen (14th) host Stuttgarter Kickers (16th) tomorrow. Siegen have plenty of injuries but cannot find anything definitive on whether Alex Elliott will make his debut.

Live ticker here:

Saturday

Bundesliga 1

VfL Bochum (12th) are away to Eintracht Frankfurt (7th) on Saturday, with Daniel Imhof starting in the holding m/f role once again. Bochum could move into a tie with Frankfurt with a win.

Live ticker here (click on the Live Ticker panel upper left):

Hansa Rostock (14th) are away to cellar dwellars MSV Duisburg (18th). A win will provide some separation from the relegation threatened teams. No sign of Ryan Gyaki with the senior squad (no news of him jetting to California either).

Regional League South

The BEAST (Ali Gerba) starts up front for his new club FC Ingolstadt 04 as they travel to play Jahn Regensburg in the RLS. His strike partner Steffen Wohlfarth just signed thru 2010.

There will be a liveticker at the Kickers site. Should be more easily found at game time:

Oberliga Nord

Riley O'Neill and SV Wilhelmshaven play their 5th away game in a row as they take on Altona 93 on Saturday. Live ticker here:

Sunday

Bundesliga 2

SC Paderborn (17th) are away to 1899 Hoffenheim (4th) on Sunday. David Hoillet again with the squad. Any result will be outstanding for Paderborn (and help Koeln). Use the bundesliga.de liveticker.

Kevin McKenna starts again for FC Koeln (5th) as they host TuS Koblenz (9th). Use the bundesliga.de liveticker.

Regional League South

1860 Muenchen reserves are in action but as far as I know, Nik L is flying out tomorrow to join our U23's.

Oberliga NordOst/Nord

Hansa Rostock amateurs take on Greifswalder SV 04 on Sunday. No lineups yet. No live ticker that I can find.

Oberliga NordRhein

Maycoll Canizales and SC Bonner host the amateurs of Bayer Leverkusen, sitting in 1st place in the league, on Sunday. They played yesterday and Maycoll went 78' in a midfield role.

Oberliga WestFalen

VfL Bochum amateurs host Hammer SpVg on Sunday, no word on whether GianLuca Zavarise will be seeing action.

Oberliga SudWest

FC Kaiserslautern amateurs take on RW Hasborn on Sunday. No word on status of Zach Kalthoff.

Monday

Bundesliga 2

FC St. Pauli (12th) home to 1860 Muenchen (8th). Both our boys are in California.

Josh Simpson is the hope of the team the fans and the region. He worked hard, 2x a day and so he feels good to help the FCK tonight gainst Freiburg he said in the press talk.

It´s only in German, but his german is pretty good inbetween. As Ed already mentioned only a victory counts.

He doesn't seem very comfortable giving interviews (not sure if it is because he is shy or because he is not confident in German) but his German is pretty good for only being there a year and a half. There are a lot of foreign footballers who have played 10 years in Germany and can't speak very well.

I think Josh is a very shy and retiring guy. He doesn´t feel so comfortable to give interviews. But in deed his german becomes better and better. No wonder his girlfrined is German (as pretty as Miss Mecklenburg-Vorpommern;))

Hopefully he explores tonight at the pitch

I found this interview with Ryan on the official Hansa website. They mention that he is on his way to join the canadian olympic team in their preparation to qualify for Bejing. He talks about the route Canada needs to go in order to qualify and he hopes with a sucsessful campaign he will get his confidence back and convince the officials at Hansa to keep him.

Josh Simpson appears to be playing as the lone target man as FC Kaiserslautern take on the Foxes. JdG's old buddy Idrissou very active for the Zebras.

Rob Friend's side up 1-0 early, goal by that blond dude Roesler.

Alex Elliot on the bench for Siegen. 1-0 Siegen still in the first half.

Kickers tie it up 1-1, with 5 minutes to go. Will we see a late sub of Elliott into the match?

Nope, ends 1-1.

Regensburg 1 - 3 Ingolstadt. Don't know if "The Beast" played but we know he didn't score. Still a good result for Ingolstadt.

The BEAST came into the game in the 69th minute, with his club up 3-1. A big win for FC Ingolstadt as they leapfrog Jahn-Regensburg into 4th place overall, 1 point out of a promotion spot. Made a gaffe on the link to the liveticker yesterday, as obviously that was to the Stuttgarter Kickers site, was supposed to offer an alternate liveticker for the Sportfreunde Siegen match.

Rley O'Neill with the game winner early in SV Wilhelmshaven's 2-0 victory over Altona 93 today. His club moves into 2nd place in the Oberliga Nord.

David Hoillet, just 17, starts for SC Paderborn today against 1899 Hoffenheim. Subbed off at the 57' mark, his side goes on to lose 1-0.

Kevin McKenna starts again for FC Koeln and they win 1-0 at home over TuS Koblenz, in front of 48,500 fans. With other results, Koeln remain one point out of promotion territory. Paderborn drop to dead last.
