beachesl
Thanks Joe. I have sticky'd this thread, which becomes our official chronicle for Canucks abroad on the forum (we do have a more static list accessible from the home page) from this point on. Joe, please maintain the FIRST post of this thread as your current list, to be revised as appropriate, so we can refer to the first post for the most updated list. I will lock the old thread, which will serve as an archive for ready reference by searching function. For archive function, I am preserving the recent copy of the list posted today on the next thread. Cheers, and thanks for your hard work and taking over this important job. Guest Jeffery S.
Terry Dunfield was reported to have been invited back to Bury pre-season training, meaning he still has a shot at a spot. I'd put him under Trial at Bury for now, if he does well it looks like they'd offer him another year's contract.

Brun06
Carmelo Rago is still at Universidad Catolica without a contract. Justin Farenik is living in Calgary and is set to attend Trinity Western University in the Fall along with Bruno Napoleao (U17 national). Kerr McCloud is set to attend Syracuse University in the fall. Waldo Dutra is living in Edmonton. He has chosen to take the education path, he will be attending NAIT in the fall. Jaswinder Gill is still in Edmonton. He doesn't have an european passport, so I dunno how he's going to play in England. Nik Zuniga is living in Calgary with no future plans for pro soccer. He may possibly be playing in the AMSL. John Castrillon JR. is playing in the AMSL.

Gian-Luca
Its really a shame that without a proper club system in Canada so many talented kids are giving up on the idea of a professional career in the game. Its tough to blame them, and I know how it feels.
john tv
Yes is indeed a shame that this has happened.I know here we go again, but how in the world can we have any recognition if the media is so against any Canadain soccer succes when it comes to the men. Our world here just will not accept soccer and all these wonderfull kids with all these talents have to go somewhere else.I wonder how many sports there are that have so many of our players play in so many countries.I sure would like to know if anyone is keeping track as we are.Would be very informative and I suggest very revealing. I also recommend that we forward our list to all the Canadian media and see what they will say or react to. It would even be more informative if we could add up the salaries these guys make and compare tham against anyone else.Maybe our soccer kids make a lot more money combined compared to other sports. Anyone interested to provide this study.Would ne min boggling if correct.
DJT
John, this is not the thread to rant about media (again). quote:Originally posted by Joe MacCarthy If you mean keep the list updated, yes.Yes, that's what I meant. Okay, next question: as you make changes to the master, trial/draft picks, need confirmation and unconfirmed lists within the existing posts above, would you be willing to maintain an additional list in which you note all the changes you make? For example: June 29, 2005 - added Joe Smith to Bigcity FC (Swaziland) (3) June 28, 2005 - removed Bob Jones from trial at AFC Craptown (Nepal) (1) - added Bob Jones to trial at AFC Crappiertown (Nepal) (2) etc. This would (1) provide an archive of player movements and (2) allow readers to easily see exactly what you've done whenever you make a change. The downside is that it's a bit more work for you. BTW, excellent work.

Norway Rob Friend - Molde (Norwegian Tippeligaen) (1) from Moss Patrice Bernier - Tromso (Norwegian Tippeligaen) (1) from Haugesund was it? Now third tier Spain Julian de Guzman - Deportivo La Coruña (Primera Division) (1) from Hannover Sweden Kenny Stamatopoulos - Bodens BK (Swedish Superettan) (2) on loan from Enkopings (Swedish Division 2) (3) so up Not too many I'd say; any discrepancies on those left out? Joe, I haven't heard from you? I just noticed what you are talking about, I guess it was hidden in one of John's media conspiracy rants. I know it doesn't seem like it but it would be more work for me that I think might be of negligible value. I have to update two lists (different html formatting) and also individually update players at 5 different websites. Because of the differing widths of the pages I have to update individually. I can't just post a new list each time without readjusting some for width. While I agree with what you are advocating for the historic value from what I've read (about this list) I don't think the interest is there (disregarding how many views there's been on this thread) and I would be putting out more effort for not much return. I've posted about keeping records for posterity but no one seemed to care. At BS the most popular thread is European teams touring Canada. Yechhh. I got the impression that this thread wasn't real important here and wasn't a sticky so I stopped updating it until I was asked to repost it again. People are also loathe to use the search function which is what would have to be used if that movement list became big enough (search by name rather than date). If anyone is willing to take it on I don't have a problem with that. I'm having enough problems getting people to look at these lists and provide a little update on where people are playing. It's fine and dandy to say so and so is playing here but that's just rumour. Provide a link, or something like I was talking to Player X or his agent/mother or saw him playing last night. I am grateful for every bit of info I get but saying so and so is on trial in Italy/Germany/PCSL isn't much help. It's a lead but if you can offer more please do, everything is recorded but nothing is posted until the info is a little more solid. Because of some other things going on in my life now I am also not spending as much time at BS (mod) as I should so more work isn't a good thing right now. Need my rest to battle the beast.
