We host Dallas this weekend.
Pros: At home, Dallas is struggling this year, Dallas has its own injury woes.
Cons: Dallas has owned TFC all time (2-6-11 W-D-L).
A win here feels very achievable and would keep the momentum going as we wait for guys to start coming off the injury list.
I don't envy the crew making this decision. Don't have the money for a true big name and they're probably not into us anyway. Coaches with a national tram track record will cost a packet but the number of people with real world cup experience willing to coach us is very limited or their career has seemed to run its course. Hire someone with a name from club football but middling managerial experience and they're fanboys. Hire some complete unknown and we risk alienating the billy big boys on the team that led the strike. Hire Bobby or Tommy and they've reverting to small type cheapout culture. This is why Christiansen could have been a good candidate - a sort of compromise all around - this isn't an easy needle to thread.
Trying to go to another TFC game at BMO soon...was at the home opener but haven't been to another game since and seeing as how we have 2 home games coming up against FC Dallas and New York City FC on the 4th and 11th I'm at least trying to go to one of those.
However, the players I'm most impressed by now definitely are Bernadeschi 🇮🇹 and Prince Owusu 🇩🇪 especially Owusu. He's becoming our new poacher.
I just love that Alphonso is still in contention to win another Champions League trophy with Bayern and think about it...if Bayern wins yet another Champions League trophy, if you're Davies, do you leave Bayern still? Or do you stay at the club long term?
Yeah to get tickets in the next 2 years it will probably be next to impossible to get tickets however if you are a Canadian national...a local then shouldn't they make it easier for locals to get tickets at a cheaper price compared to people who are going to be flying in from the other 47 nations?
Yeah but then if Toronto is trying to host in 2026, then don't you think the city should be starting on plans to renovate BMO Field to expand it to make the stadium World Cup ready by the time 2026 rolls around?
Pretty amazing, I feel like last year this time we were feeling a little thin at striker with a lot of young potential, but nothing concrete (beyond David and Larin). How things change!
There's not much coaches who are active today, full stop.
Juan Carlos Osorio? Scolari? Sven Eriksson? Jurgen Klinsmann? Fabio Capello? Lowe?
I'm interested in what you consider success/the goal is for the World Cup?
Round of 16?
99% sure McNab is from the UK. Judging from his accent he grew up in or near London, England but his family is probably from Dundee originally given he supports Dundee FC.
