Big_M
As this is one of our weekest positions and there is no sure starter, this thread will be a weekly review of CB's in their clubs from now to the GC to find out who are truly the most in form players going into the competition. As most of them are playing in USL/NASL, most games will be available free live and on demand so it will be easier to see them in action. There are many games so if some of you can watch some games and post reviews just let me know which games you can watch and we will work around that. Here is a list of players who can play at CB although some of them are likely to play more in other positions: MLS Wandrille Lefevre-Montreal USL and NASL Nana Attakora-San Francisco Karl Ouimette-San Francisco Marko Aleksic-Edmonton Adam Straith-Edmonton Drew Beckie-Jacksonville Amer Didic-Swope Park Rangers Edson Edward-Ottawa Thomas Meilleur Giguere-Ottawa Dejan Jakovic-New York Cosmos Mallan Roberts-Richmond Mele Temguia-Cincinnati Skylar Thomas-Charleston Mason Trafford-Miami Dominick Zator-Vancouver Europe Luca Gasparotto-Falkirk Doneil Henry-West Ham-Out for season Manjrekar James-Vasas Steven Vitoria-Lechia Gdansk Milovan Kapor-Zlate Moravce Derek Cornelius-Javor Ivanjica Jems Geffrard-Ekenas IF Some like Attakora and Straith will likely play elsewhere and others will start the season as subs so those to watch in priority are Ouimette, Beckie, Didic, Jakovic, Roberts, Thomas, Trafford and the 3 in Europe (hard to get a stream for those games) Week of March 25-All Times Eastern Saturday March 25th 11 AM Hibernian vs Falkirk 5 PM LA vs Vancouver Richmond vs Harrisburg 7 Charleston vs Cincinnati 7:30 North Carolina vs Miami Puerto Rico vs New York Cosmos 8:30Swope Park Rangers vs OKC 10San Francisco vs Indy As for the reviews there is no need for grades, simply the positives and negatives and overall appreciation of the performance. Thank you to all who will participate.
Big_M
Let's get this season started. Zator is not playing for Vancouver but Roberts is starting for Richmond so will be watching that one. Tissot is also starting for Richmond. Temguia and Jakovic are not in the squads and Thomas starts on the bench. Didic is with the national u23 team. Mason Trafford is starting so that is the 7:30 game to watch. Attakora starting at CB and Ouimette at RB, will be interesting to watch.
Big_M
Week 1 Performances Mallan Roberts-Played 90 at RCB in a back 3 in a 1-0 win. Started the game well with good passing and positioning but then gave away a penalty when he ran across on a long ball and fouled the attacker. Penalty was saved. Had a good rest of the game with precise short and long diagonal passes to switch play. Was good in the air. Mason Trafford-Played 90 at LCB in a back 4 in a 1-1 draw. Had a very good game, the other CB made the mistake on the conceded goal. Defended very well on the dangerous Fondy. Successful in slide tackles and has a good left foot. Attakora-Played 90 at RCB in a back 4 in a 1-1 draw. Had no part in the goal conceded. Good in the air, good short passing, positioning was a little off at times but probably because he played mostly at RB in recent times. Probably had a little extra pressure as captain but stayed composed. All 3 Canadians played well in the first game ever of the Deltas. Gasparotto played 90 at LCB in a back 4 in a 2-1 loss. Got a yellow card. Game not watched so no comments on his performance.
One American
At the risk of incurring wrath, just a short update on Hedges and the USMNT from the two WCQs....... Arena played Cameron wide right in the first game, then he was suspended, and Brooks was injured. Omar Gonzalez started both games, and Ream surprisingly moved to the middle rather than left. Neither Zimmerman nor Besler played. So either Hedges is pretty far out of the picture. Or Arena hasn't seen enough to be comfortable either way. Bully
Stanese is also playing a decent amount, one to keep an eye on.

Toje
I believe Milovan Kapor (25 years old) plays CB at times. He is currently playing for Zlate Moravce in the Slovak 1st tier. I do not think he has ever represented Canada at any level.
Big_M
^ You are right, will add him. But it's not going very well for him as he has only played in 2 of the last 7.

Obinna
I really like the idea of this thread. I will pay a little more attention to the CB's and catch a game or two if I can so that I can contribute and provide feedback.

Big_M
Ciman got injured with the national team and is out for this one but Biello is more likely to go with Camara at CB beside Cabrera.

Big_M
He is both a CM and CB. His current season's highlight video has actually just been posted today:
Toje
Apr 1 - Slovak 1st tier Milovan Kapor started and played 90 minutes for Zlate Moravce in a 2-0 loss vs Trencin. He has been playing mostly CB over the past year or so.

Big_M
Week 2 Performances Gasparotto-Played 90 at LCB in a back 4 in a 1-0 win. Game not watched so no comments on his performance. Kapor-Played 90 at LCB in a back 4 in a 2-0 loss. Got a yellow card. Game not watched so no comments on his performance. Lefevre-Played 7 at CB in a back 4 in a 2-2 draw. Didn't play well and was responsible on a goal conceded. Roberts-Played 90 at RCB in a back 3 in a 1-0 loss. Good positioning, lots of communication, good in the air. One unnecessary foul. Several bad short and long passes. Jakovic-Played 90 at RCB in a back 4 in a 3-0 loss. Good with the ball and good positioning but was a step late at times which is normal with the time he's been out. Trafford-Played 90 at LCB in a back 4 in a 3-0 win. Very good performance, good defending, positioning, tackling. Almost always looked for the short pass and the one time he went for a long ball the defender slipped and his teammate scored so an assist for him. James played at DM, Edward at RW, Straith at DM and Beckie at RB.

masster
Sounds like Gasparotto did not have a good game and apologized for his performance. Luca Gasparotto (@lucagasparotto3) 2017-04-08, 9:34 AM Good point in the end today, apologies to the fans for my performance today, just one of those days! On to next week ?️ I found that funny after the Osorio article, and a poster saying he shouldn't apologize for poor performances.

Obinna
I have a feeling Attakora might get selected for Gold Cup. He's starting and his team is winning and he's wearing the armband. Looking at that list, there is not much competition either, at least compared to previous years.
Toje
Apr 15 - Slovak 1st tier Milovan Kapor scored in the 90th minute for Zlate Moravce in a 2-1 win over Senica.
Pottsy3
Could we see Attakora and Ouimette starting at CB and RB in the World Cup? Those seem like our two most questionable positions, and chemistry is one thing that our national team tends to lack because of how frequently our XI changes/how little we play. They've been playing together at San Fran, and their team has had a really good start especially for an expansion side thats still learning to play together. Would have to assume that the link between the two will only improve by the summer. Has anyone here watched them this year and can comment on how the Deltas backline looks? Big_M
They have been good not great they have had their clumsy moments but hasn't led to goals. This is about CB's at the gold cup only so post other subjects such as this in other threads.
