For those needing a little more info. then what's provided:

Canada will face Mexico in a pair of Men’s U-17 International Friendly matches this coming week in Morelia, Mexico. Canada will be facing the host of the FIFA U-17 World Cup on both Wednesday 20 April and Sunday 24 April at the Estadio Morelos. Both Canada and Mexico have already qualified for this summer’s FIFA U-17 World Cup Mexico 2011.

Coach Sean Fleming has called in 24 players for the upcoming camp. The camp runs 16-25 April in Mexico. The 20 April match kicks off at 16.00 local (17.00 ET / 14.00 PT) while the 24 April match kicks off at 09.00 local (10.00 ET / 13.00 PT).

I think two of the biggest omissions are M Bryce Alderson and D Daniel Stanese from the Whitecaps Residency. Two of are better players from the qualifying tournament. I'm assuming its because their playing in the Dallas Cup next week

No Jordan Hamilton. Is he out injured or is it because of that stupid you can't play in two U17 world cups twice rule and they want him for next cycle?

Glad to see they are looking at new faces too like Yassin Essa

Don't know about that, but at the U20 we have had several players who have played in two cycles, Hutchinson, Hume, Edgar, Attakora. Those are just the ones that come to mind.

That's because there's no rule limiting the number of U20 tournaments you're allowed to play in. Freddy Adu wasn't allowed to play in the U17 2005 tournament because he played in 2003 and Brad Parker couldn't play in 1997 because he played in 1995.

Interesting. I guess you guys are saying that such a rule exists but its unique to the U17 but not the U20.

Not a bad result considering we started the game with 4 only starters (Crepeau, Gasparotto, Piette and Aleman)

edit: Make that 3 starters, i think the usual starting CB's are Stanese and Benomar, not Gasparotto.

edit 2: bummer on the late goal!

Looks like the final is 2-1 Mexico, they scored the go-ahead in the 82nd. Still an okay result for us.

82 Goal scored by opponent player Marco Antonio Bueno

#canm17 - Canada argues offside, but Mexico goal stands for Marco Bueno (again). Score is now CAN 1-2 MEX
