argh1
Only concern expressed by CSA officials is that practice fields aren't up to FIFA standards. But CSA said that was common in Canadian cities. http://timestranscript.canadaeast.com/front/article/1397760 CBC NB at 6 .....it's the 1st story http://www.cbc.ca/video/#/News/Local_News/NB/1317906492/ID=1880049314

paul-collins
The stadium Ottawa could have ..cheap and fast ... convert the empty Lynx Ball stadium. http://pgepark.io-media.com/ The shape of Lynx stadium isn't the same as the Timbers' new one, you'd be demolishing half of it (down the 3rd base line) to fit in the soccer field. Besides, the Fat Cats are doing ok (4200 season tickets sold for next year, granted only an 18 game home schedule) which suggests baseball isn't dead in Ottawa just yet. terpfan68
According to the article cited by argh1 Canadian cities will host 4 teams so Group matches will be played in only one location. Germany had Canada play group matches in 3 cities. Of course you can travel all over Germany much easier than in Canada. Does anyone know when the 6 cities will be selected and since there are 7 bids for 6 spots, which city will be left out? Also, which 4 cities will probably get the under 20 WC in 2014? LAK
As I understand it the CSA stated that they would be selecting a MINIMUM of 6 host cities. The media jumped all over the ONLY 6 number and ran with it. There is no reason why all 7 cities won't be used. As long as everyone meets the requirements (for Halifax...building a stadium), I think they will all be chosen. It's also possible that 6 cities get 6 pools and another city gets semi-finals and finals.
terpfan68
Do they match the cities with the groups before the draw or after the draw? Since stadia size vary considerably it would be a good idea to put USA's and Canada's groups in location such as Montreal, Vancouver or Edmonton to maximize attendance. Blackdude
I don't know if they match before or after, but they can book Canada's matches from Group Stage.
