With all the Euros going on, I wonder if another team would play Canada in a friendly on the other date. They could play on the 15th. Denmark, Iceland, Italy, Russia, Spain and Sweden are teams who will be going to the Euros that haven't played Canada this year. You could add Finland and the Netherlands Norway to the mix of teams that could schedule Canada. I highly doubt that England and France would book Canada again. According to the fifa.com website, none of those teams have a scheduled game on that day or the day after. It will be interesting to see who will challenge Big Red.

Sinclair has said that Canada will play 3 games until the remaining of the year. I guess that they'll announce a friendly soon.

@ Fred, Does this include the Toronto game? Source? Either way, sounds like we will have at least one more game this year. Friendly dates at the end of November maybe?

Rankings: 23,12,11 (Cyprus) 1,2,3,3 (Canada)

We know if the planets are aligned we can stick with good teams. We still don't know how to win them, but we know how to put ourselves in a position to win. That's a 16-month task.

The first three are quite interesting.

Finland is a but unpredictable. Off form and haven't played since Halloween. After a good Cyprus Cup last year they went into the Euro and tied the Danes and Italians but got put down harshly by the Swedes and came last in their group in the Euro. They followed up the Euro with Fall matches against Kazakhstan (2-0 and 1-0) and Austria (2-1). Bit of a toss up, they're capable of being both gamey and fragile.

Italy are also rusty and haven't played since Halloween either when they lost 2-0 to an up-and-coming Spanish program. Their Cyprus last year was quite unflattering with losses to England, New Zealand and Scotland. In the Euro in the summer they tied the Finns, eeked by the Danes and and were 1-3 Sweden. Good enough for a quarter and a surprising 0-1 against the eventual champions Germany. They played Estonia in the Fall (5-1) and Romania (1-0). Canada/Italy could be a classic battle of styles.

England have played a bit more than the other two. A big Cyprus Cup last year for the three lions beating Italy, New Zealand and Canada. They followed it up with a Spring home win over Canada and a tie with Japan. In the Euro in the summer they wiped out losing to Spain, tying Russia and getting pasted by the French, the net of which cost Hope Powell her job. Since her departure they had easy wins in the Fall over Belarus (6-0), Turkey (8-0 and 4-0), Wales (2-0). They played a couple weeks ago in the Mediterranean and tied Even Pellerud's Norwegians who were two denied PK's from stealing the EURO. The English program is getting in gear and they will be on a mission to repeat and full measure.
