bjarne
Mariel is playing with Fortuna. I think she had some injury problems which is why she has not been in any matches yet this year. I am also positive that Ramsay is with a team in Sweden. I will see if I can find out which one.
Vic
That's great, thanks Bjarne. I'll wait and see if you can dig it up before adding Solsberg. Poster Boy... the Ottawa Fury isn't exactly abroad and she was with them last year too, playing off the wings. Odd that Julien departed for the Comètes. bjarne
Based on stats, it looks like Julien didn't get much playing time in Ottawa last season, which is why I am guessing she headed off to Laval. Lucky break for the Cometes.

bjarne
Saviola7, not sure where you got your info from, but unfortunately, Strommen lost 1-0 to Everton (in the 91st minute no less) and are out of the Champions League. A 0-0 would have seen them through. A painful loss for sure.
Vic
Thanks for the update bjarne, the 32s have some great matchups. Please keep the info coming if you are following them. And interestingly enough, the goal was scored by Michelle Hinnigan and I remembered back to this thread where N-A mentions "The 18 year old is Michelle Hinnigan. A name to watch out for in the future." http://www.canadian-soccer.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=18478 Game info: http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/blues-through-to-final-32.html "Everton dominated the first half and put their opponents firmly on the backfoot, yet couldn't find the net despite their good possession. In fact, it was Strommen who nearly snatched a half-time advantage, hitting the crossbar in a rare foray into the Everton half. Goalless at the break, the second period saw Everton enjoy similar amounts of possession, with Strommen knowing a draw would see them progress through to the last 32 on goal difference. And as time ticked away it looked as if the Blues were going to be frustrated by Strommen and face elimantion having dominated much of the game. As the tie progressed well beyond 90 minutes, a powerful run by Fara Williams played in Rachel Unitt who cleverly spotted the incoming Hinnigan. She finished with a deft lob to leave the Strommen goalkeeper stranded as the ball flew over before nestling in the bottom right corner."

Vic
From the 9 last Summer it's down to 4 WPS players this year, half of whom are goalkeepers. As a country we really need to have the right people sit down and figure this out and provide a solution for our Canadian women. It appears a league like every single other Top 10 country is beyond our vision and care, and unimaginably we don't even have a single professional opportunity. At minimum we need a WPS team yesterday. Soccer 19
Wow it's started already , I did not think it would hit the ranks this quickly. I was saying to a few of my good freinds the other day as I wonder if and when the colleges / universities will take out (backlash) for our U17 win over t$he USA. Basically what I was saying is that their will be a move afoot to only develop their own and not Canadians. I was just talking out loud in theory. However is theory becoming reality. Enquiring minds. Lets keep an eye on this one folks moving forward.

However it sounds strange they decided to cut the two Canadians at the same time and that Latham was cut after scoring a goal in their last exhibition game. Definitely a subject to be followed ! Atlanta has it's 5 international spots filled so someone had to go. The fact that it was the two Canadians that went is coincidnece and no more. Looking at the 5 other international players I don't think it's surprising that it was these two who went. The "develop their own" argument really doesn't wash either given that every team can have 5 international players.
