Gian-Luca
Excellent. So Mexico will have to score twice in the 2nd half with just 10 men to prevent Canada from going through.
jonovision
I don't want to speak to soon, and I also don't know the quality of African sides very well, but Burkina Faso doesn't sounds like too tough an opponent, compared to, say, the Czech Republic or Brazil. jonovision
It looks like Mexico and Ireland both got red-carded in the 43rd minute, so both sides will play from here with 10 men.

The African sides generally seem to be pretty tough at this level. But Burkina Faso beats a plane ride home. And I don't doubt that we have a chance to beat them if we are on our game. I don't think they scored a lot of goals.
jonovision
2nd half is underway. 45 minutes for Ireland to hold on, or for Egypt to bag a goal or two against Japan.
sstackho
Don't forget, birth records can be sketchy in some African countries.
red card
I wouldn't get too over confident because we're playing an African country that most people haven't heard of. In these u20, u17 World Cups, the Africans usually show up very well. Pedigree isn't as important. And this tournament's results show it: Austrailia beat Brazil, England is out, Germany is on the bubble etc..
Alberto
I think you going to see some subs coming in for Ireland soon possibly replacement for one of the yellow carded players maybe the attacker from Ireland.
Guest Ed
Mexico will have to score two in 14 minutes. Otherwise, we're in. Go you Irish (you won't hear that from me very often)!!!!!
sstackho
All right, looking good for Canada. No goals in Egypt-Japan (surprise, surprise) and Ireland still leading by one. Mexico need to score two goals in the next 15-20 minutes (according to LiveScore), or Canada are in. Each side down to 10 men. More space out there could lead to more goals. Guest Jeffery S.
I am not sure how it is so clear we play Burkina Faso, but I'll take your word for it. If that is the case the winner would play the winner of the Spain-Paraguay match. We saw Paraguay in Panama and they are clearly manageable, while Spain this tournament is missing a lot of key players and has not shown to be the power they usually are at a youth level. So this could be fun. Watching US-Korea on DSF live, an embarrassment. As Korea can't receive more goals at the risk of possibly leaving the third spot to the Germans, they are playing slowly at the back with no US pressure at all, and fans have been leaving since m. 65. At least the States attacks a bit when they have the ball.
jonovision
And then it was 2!! (2-0 Ireland, that is).
sstackho
I did make a screw-up in some of the non-Canada Group of 16 matches. However, since group B is out, Canada plays the winner of Group A for sure. GOL!!!
