Oh certainly, but they’re doing it under the guise of it being below their standards - even though their league played in football stadiums with lines for the first 15 seasons. Sadly I think it’s going to take CONCACAF/FIFA stepping in to rein them in.

Don't discount the potential entry into the new Club World Cup and all of the potential revenue that would bring just for participating.

They have 5 qualification slots for the CCC through league play and up to 3 more through the Leagues Cup (which went quite well for them last time around) so the American MLS clubs treating the USOC as an afterthought doesn't get in the way of their ability to go after Club World Cup entry to any huge extent.
