Not a lot of information out there, anybody know anything? https://www.internationalchampionscup.com/en/women I haven’t paid much attention to this tournament other than vague awareness, although this probably stems from me generally discounting the men’s tournament. It should actually be a good event on the women’s side and we can expect Ashley Lawrence to be part of the PSG side

Vic
The NCAA rules must have changed, used to be you could play an intersquad with a pro team but couldn't play a friendly against another opponent.
Vic
Not really a fully loaded shootout. Carolina are missing six of their best to national team duty. PSG are out of season and missing some big names and have brought a number of youth players to get quorum.

rkomar
Huitema and PSG didn't get much going on the attack, except that she managed to intercept a pass and get in alone on the net. She smoked it wide from a good position inside the box, and really should have done better. Too bad, because she had no other chances to show her stuff. Vic
Both teams had players a year younger than Huitema on the field. PSG also used local American youth club players and brought in a 16 year-old American goalkeeper who wore the shirt of a veteran. PSG play a two-striker system and only brought two strikers with them. One a U18 and the other a 23 year-old Turkish international who they just signed who scored on the Faroe Islands and Luxembourg in WC qualifying but did not score in seven EURO qualifiers. Man City brought in 16 year-old Jess Park, really nice to see clubs taking young players abroad and giving them that kind of a development opportunity. Sure helps your national team. The game had unlimited subs and all PSG starters were subbed. In Huitema's case yeah she missed the net but it was a well-created opportunity and she just wasn't clinical. Not uncommon with young players after an hour in big games. She'll learn from it. PSG is playing in another tournament in Spain in mid-August against Fortuna Hjorring, Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid and and will have more of their regulars on-board. Huitema's opportunity is at 64:

Anyone seen the TV movie series called The Book of Negroes? the star of the movie is a woman in the role of an Aminata Diallo. This is an interesting coincidence. (Great movie by the way). tc-in-bc
Maybe the American woso fan needs a larger American angle to pique their interest . PSG used a few ECNL kids back in Portland, but in general, there are no prominent American woso players currently on OL, PSG. and Man City. And because of scheduling , NC were missing some USWNT players as well . In addition, there is an established NWSL fan base up in Orlando ( the Pride ); perhaps Orlando, Florida would have been a better place for today's matches instead of Miami. Maybe the NWSL should have been more involved. I wouldn't mind seeing all nine NWSL clubs each host one top European club in a single one- off match . The NWSL vs Europe -- with European woso clubs like OL, PSG, Man City, Chelsea Women , Arsenal Women, Wolfsburg, Bayern Munich, Barcelona , Linkoping all participating. One can play around with the match ups in one's mind , but Olympique Lyonnais against the Portland Thorns at Providence Park would have to be an automatic. rkomar
There seem to be a lot of little things adding up to hamper this tournament. Too bad, because there is a stunning array of talent that showed up for this. On paper it's a great idea, but pulling it off looks to be very tricky. I'm hoping that it can evolve into what it deserves to be.

Vic
Aminata Diallo is a quick little darting midfielder. She seemed a bit constrained by the team's tactical framework, as did Lawrence.
