The Mother of all Chant Sheets

I've been meaning to put together a chant sheet which has as many Canada chants and club chants adapted to be Canadian chants. I've been lucky enough to have attended games in several cities and have a reasonable grasp on many of the local chants that have been adapted. However, despite the winter months being slower for my work, and therefore perfect for these kinds of projects, I've gotten nothing done besides getting a copy of Califax's chant sheet. I thought maybe I'd solicit some help. If you know a standard Canada chant or a chant that has been adapted from your local club, please post it in this thread. Include as much information as you can: lyrics, tune, actions, variations, youtube links if you have them. Once there is a reasonably large number I will copy and paste them and build a big chant sheet with them.

Chant: The Yankees picked a Fight

Tune: She'll be Coming Around the Mountain

Oh the Yankees picked a fight in 1812

Oh the Yankees picked a fight in 1812

Oh the Yankees picked a fight, the Yankees picked a fight, the Yankees picked a fight in 1812.

So we burned the f**kin' White House to the ground

So we burned the f**kin' White House to the ground

So we burned the f**kin' White House, we burned the f**kin' White House, we burned the f**kin' White House to the ground.

Chant: I Just Can't Get Enough

Tune: Just Can't Get Enough (Depeche Mode)

When I see my country I go out of my head.

I just can't get enough. I just can't get enough.

All the things you do to me and all the things you said.

I just can't get enough. I just can't get enough.

We slip and slide as we fall in love. And I just can't seem to get enough of you.

Do, do, do, do, do, do. Do, do, do, do, do, do, do. Do, do, do, do, do, do, do. DO, DO, DO, DO.

Sorry if I'm hijacking your thread Rob.

I always liked this Simeon Jackson one. It's simple and can easily be adapted to other players.

No you're not hijacking it at all. Keep it up. I'm going to try and post a couple new chants everyday, but whatever others can provide is more than welcome, videos included.

I'd not seen the Allez video but have seen the Simeon Jackson one and recall doing that at BMO vs Panama. Taught it to the Footsoldiers guys in Calgary and used it for Elijah Adakugbe (do do do DO. A-de-kug-be). Good times.

Oh well. Since it was mentioned, here are a bunch of chants with people's names. We came up with several of these prior to the WWC and U20WWC.

Chant: Simeon Jackson

Tune: I've always known it as the theme from The New Music in the 80s/90s. If it has an actual name, please let me know.

Do, do, duh do. Simeon Jackson. (repeat over and over).

(Also done for Elijah Adekugbe in Calgary)

Chant: Kadeisha!

Tune: Tequila

Duh, do, do, do, do, do, do, do. Duh, do, do, do, do, do, do.

KADEISHA!!

Chant: Ricketts

Tune: We Know Who We Are (that's what I've always know the chant as)

He plays on the left, he plays on the riiiight! Tosaint Ricketts! Makes Messi look shite!! (repeat)

Chant: She scores when she wants

Tune: We Know Who We Are

She scores when she wants, she scores when she waaants! Christine Sinclair! She scores when she wants!

Chant: Adriana

Tune: There's No Limit

Na, na. Na, na, na, na. Na, na, na, na. Na, na, A-DRI-A-NA!!

(Also was done for Emma Fletcher during U20WWC. Emma. Emma, Emma. etc, etc)

Chant: Atiba

Tune: When the Saints Go Marching In

Oh Canada. Is beautiful.

Oh Canada is beautiful.

We've got the snow, the sun, and Atiba.

Oh Canada is beautiful.

(This was borrowed from FCE supporters and not sure it was done more than once, and then only by a few people)

Chant: Cyle Larin

Tune: The Flintstones

Larin. Cyle Larin. He's the greatest guy in history.

From the. Town of Brampton. He's about to score a goal or three.

This is my dream chant:

"Single guys clap your hands"

followed by

"Single ladies clap your hands"

This would be awesome if you could get it go back and forth.

Ha! Considering my age, I can't believe I don't know that Cameo video.

Chant: The Bounce

Tune: When the Ants Go Marching In

We built a house on Lakeshore for the Reds, the Reds

We'll never stop 'til we win the cup we said, we said

And when we sing it's plain to see, we're the greatest team in history

And the Reds go marching on to Victory

la, la, la, la, la ... (repeat tune, arms around your neighbour, bounce)

(I've heard different words for this almost every time I've heard it sung ... might not have them correct)

(Location can be customized)
