Pat Onstad held the LA Galaxy to a shutout, thanks in part to a great sequence of goalkeeping that rival's Lars Hirschfeld's famous stops against the US in 2002. The sequence can be seen here.

Dwayne De Rosario also played 90 in the 3-0 win, in which two of the goals were put in their own net by LA defenders.

The game was Landon Donovan's return to San Jose after he left the team to go to Germany and subsequently came back to MLS with his tail between his legs. Donovan chose to sign with hometown LA instead of San Jose, and the fans were on his back all night.

Alim Karim played the full match in goal for the Cape Cod Crusaders (PDL) in a friendly against the New England Revolution Reserves.

The match ended 6-2 in favour of the Revs, with US int'l striker Taylor Twellman notching a hat-trick within the first 35 minutes. Twellman had injured his hamstring on June 4 and saw his first match action since the injury in this game.

No Felix Brillant in this match, perhaps rumours of him being cut from the team are true.

EDIT: Just found an article from the Boston Globe that seems to confirm that Brillant has, indeed, been cut from the team. The sentence is a bit ambiguous, and could be interpreted that he was released for the GC, which would go against the CSA release which lists him as a back-up player that will not travel with the team.

quote:"Canadian national team forward Felix Brillant, who has not played in an MLS game this season, has been released by the Revolution."

Short recap from the swedish 2nd tier Superettan: Öster (Tyler Hughes playing 90) got a 1-1 away draw with leaders AIK, Bodens BK (Kenny Stamatopoulos 90 minutes in goal) lost 2-0 at Ljungskile and Trelleborgs FF defeated Falkenberg 1-0 at home. Ademolu didn't dress for Trelleborg, tending a minor knee injury he recieved in the last match.

A little news on Ademolu: swedish premier side GIF Sundsvall is according to "sources within the club" interested in Ademolu's services. Sundsvall has been in the swedish premier Allsvenskan since 1999, always in the bottom half.

A huge day for both Odd Grenland and Molde as both clubs advance to the 5th Round (Final 8) of the Norwegian Cup.

Odd Grenland exploded in the second half to destroy First Division side Alta, 6-0. The big story for Canada is that there was no sign of Occean for Odd Grenland (has his poor goal output caught up to him, or perhaps this has something to do with recent transfer rumours or Canada's Gold Cup?).

Molde score a huge road victory beating fellow Tippeligaen side Bodo/Glimt, 2-1. Friend again scores the decisive goal for Molde, after fellow Moss teammate/strike partner Håvard Sakariassen had levelled the score for Bodo/Glimt.

Friend currently has 5 League Goals (top ten in Norway's Tippeligaen), and 2 in the Norwegian Cup.
