Hopefully when our league starts we do things right.   What is OUR league  hope you are not talking of the pipedream called the  CSL, as it will never happen without the 5 pro teams that are playing right now.

Doesn't OKC have a basketball team in the NBA playoffs right now (Don't follow it, just going with what I've seen on Twitter). I think they'll get up there again with the fall season (wouldn't hurt if they could actually win a game at home).

Strikers apparently have massive sponsors from China and Brazil. So I'm not too worried about them folding. Sounds like they're moving stadiums between spring and fall which might help as well.

The Strikers are also building a strong foundation to their club by adding a U23 Strikers Reserve team to the NPSL this season and a U19 Strikers club they've just started which will be going to China in July and participating in an annual cup tournament they have there. Their owners are also worth 700-800 Million so whatever their losing at this time is pocket change for them.

Spring Season Championship Left Wide Open After NASL Week 10

https://www.beinsports.com/us/nasl/news/spring-season-championship-left-wide-open-aft/273622

The New York Cosmos left the door open in the NASL Spring Season title race after falling to the Fort Lauderdale Strikers in Saturday’s early game, but the clubs chasing them in the standings failed to take advantage of their stumble, leaving the defending champions in a favorable position going into Week 11.

Posters on Bigsoccer are claiming that the difference is that they are not handing out free tickets this year and they are actually generating more revenue than they have in previous seasons.

The Strikers also went on record in the off season (I want to say sometime around the new year) and admitted to the supporters and fans that they (in actuality) had previously had the lowest paid attendance in the league. I think we're just seen the "unpadded" numbers here.

Also, as an FC Edmonton fan, its good to not be the lowest attendance in the league.

Rumors on reddit that Rayo is looking to get out of OKC after they were relegated from La Liga.

Rayo V's Martin Presa, who is the principle owner of Rayo OKC, did say that they are looking into possibly selling part or all of their investment to someone.

Could be good for the NASL OKC club in the end as they could rebrand back to Oklahoma City FC, whom the local owner Sean Jones had as the clubs name originally. The club is doing well in attendance averaging just about 5000 fans a game this year so far.

The wild and woolly NASL spring season done... Ottawa with nine points, Cosmos with 18, Edmonton with 17, and three game win difference to first place, 22 games in fall season, can Ottawa catch up ?

Ottawa won the combined in 2015 with 45 points. Some 66 points ( three for a win ) are available in fall season. Ottawa has nine points, and would need 36 or more in fall season, so 12 wins out of 22 games, or a combination of wins and ties. With Indy already qualified Ottawa has to essentially win half its games plus one, ( or add ties ) to be in striking distance of a playoff position.

Can Ottawa start scoring goals ?

Will defence tighten to become the best or near best in Fall Season.

I think goal scoring is still going to be tough, Dalglish does has not created a system that is producing goals with his talent pool, perhaps in the break a striker will be found or he will re-work his system to get scoring from a variety of positions and players.

The Jonny Steele experiment has not yet proven to be a driver of offence, hopefully he starts to get his mojo working in the fall season.

Will large home crowds help...no doubt, but they need something to cheer about ... to keep coming back.

Paul Dalgish has done an impressive job in his first spring season considering all the roster turn-over. The Fury will keep improving.

This assumes that Ottawa can keep de Jong IMO. That's a massive MASSIVE part of the success.

Additionally, Ottawa won two games... vs Miami at home, and vs Jax, also at home. Not exactly games that would be a positive indicator for them. Last 5 games: D-L-L-W-D. 5 out of 15 possible points. Last year, Ottawa came out of the V Cup guns blazing, and didn't look back.

Edmonton last 5 on the other hand... W-L-W-W-D (10/15 points).

Perhaps The NASL’s Greatest Rivalry Resumes Saturday

http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2016/08/12/new-york-cosmos-tampa-bay-rowdies-nasl/

The Cosmos/Rowdies series was particularly intense back in the ’70s and ’80s and it picked up right where it left off when the Cosmos returned to the pitch in 2013 after a 29-year absence. The storied rivalry will be renewed on Saturday night at 7 p.m. when the sides meet at Hofstra University’s Shuart Stadium in a critical NASL contest.

“Obviously with the history of the two clubs, when the Cosmos rebooted Tampa was the first team we knew about,” said Cosmos captain and defender Carlos Mendes. “Since we’ve been back playing them they’ve always been tough.”
