Red and White
Hope no one minds me starting a match thread, I don't think we have one. It's currently half-time, we're down 2-0. Fleming with a couple of opportunities in the first half, one hit the post while the other was a nice save from Finland's goalkeeper. I thought we've held possession well, but couldn't do anything with it, while Finland have made much better use of any counter-attack possession they've been given. TFC07
This is awful soccer to watch! So many bad touches from Canadian side which makes Finland's job easier to defend against and counter attack. This Canadian team doesn't look like a soccer team that belongs in the world cup. They're playing like a house league team so far in tournament. TFC07
Canada are right back in the game. Two subs contributing for both of goals! Still have 40 minutes left to win this game.

Amazing start to the second half! We suddenly look like we can't stop creating chances. Something must have been said/done in the dressing room at half time. We look like a completely different team. The V's sound great btw. Kudos to those of us that could make it.

Canada up 3-2 now! They finally playing with some urgency here. We all know they can play better and they're finally showing it.

xman14
Jeeez, very hard to watch. Good bits of play here and there but largely unimpressed with how the Canadians kept possession.... Seemed like putting 5 passes together was a stretch at times... Hope they can rally with a good few days of training and come back with the home supporters behind them and beat Jim Jong-un FC. I picked the wrong game to attend Tuesday vs Ghana was fun, but that second half was amazing!
Yohan
Buchanan is scary. She's got the calmest composure in a 18? yr old kid. And that Prince kid is like a combination of energizer bunny and a tank combined. She plowed through Finnish defence at times. Too bad her finishing needs work, though good on her to be at the right place at the right time for the winning goal.
The Kid
Yekka looked lost again, if I was her I would definitely thank Buchanan. It wouldn't suprise me if both goals were her fault Olivieri nailed the subs tonight, and it made a huge difference.

Cblake
Had a great night down at BMO tonight, with the come from behind victory and a supporters section going all out. Also have to commend the Ghana supporters for sticking around, singing the Canadian national anthem and staying involved. Good times all around. Vic
Perspective: Finland. More extreme northern climate than Canada. Five million people. Similar to Canada with a poor men's team (#55). Women's ranking between Scotland and Ukraine. Never appeared in a Women's World Cup. Last U20 tournament they lost all three matches giving up 12 goals and scoring once. After the USA with 1.5 million registered female youth players, Canada is #2 with over 400,000. Finland have 25,000. Their resourcing and preparation for this tournament was a fraction of ours. They had one win in three matches in their final Euro group to qualify, and were beaten 4-0 by England in their semi-final after that.
BuSaPuNk
What an amazing night. So sore from drumming that game. Was in cruise control before that amazing come back. Once they scored and we got that lift in the stands I think the girls really got that extra boost from us. 3 points keeps us alive and now we possibly could even go on with a loss depending on the result of Ghana and Finland. Would like us to top the group though. Be nice to have the first knock out game here in Toronto.

CowTipper
That was THE most memorable game at BMO for me... Eli, thanks for your work in the capo stand and allowing my young sons and I to stand and support in the front row. They will never forget that match.
