Grizzly Posted January 16, 2007 Share Posted January 16, 2007 Some really strange choices on the list the strangest being Martin Nash (I don't think he was the Whitecaps player of the year let alone the Canadian player of the year). Stalteri is on the list despite being injured for half of the year. While Serioux had a decent start to his MLS career I don't think he is a serious candidate for Canadian player of the year either. I know David Edgar has had the spotlight recently, but if it wasn't for injuries he might still have not made a first-team appearance for Newcastle. Johnson on the other hand was dominant for Heerenveen reserves and is now with the first-team on what seems to be a permanent basis. He has also scored (although we never did get to see a video clip!) Either way, 2 excellent young Canadians!
