canadiankick97
quote:Originally posted by highburygooner hume scores. ...in a Tranmere 5-1 win. He also goes the 90'. Jim Brennan goes the distance in his team's loss. Josh Simpson was left on the bench while Adrian Serioux was subbed on at the death. De Vos plays his usual 90 in his team's 3-2 victory. Kevin Mckenna played 62 minutes in his team's win.
Grizzly
Klukowski's debut for Brugge was delayed by a thigh injury which has kept him from practice the last week and he wasn't on the bench for the game either. No word on how serious the injury is. Brugge did win their game yesterday.

Guest Jeffery S.
Dani Fernandes has played his first game with the 1st team of Paok, coming on for the starting keeper m. 32 (who was injured?) with the team up 0-1 away to Egaleo. Just the fact that he was on the bench was an advance, as he has been third keeper all year and has not been called up to any league games, from what I recall. The home team scored two goals second half to take the win, this short report from www.paokfc.gr does not seem to blame him for the goals. "PAOK lost for second time in 4 days by Egaleo away. The defeat was a corollary of a very bad performance and as a result of it, the team did not carry off any points from this game. PAOK are situated in the middle of the table, having 19 points, while Egaleo climbed to 21. PAOK took the lead 12 minutes after the kick off. Yiasoumi crossed the ball from the left side into the opponents’ area and Salpigidis, who was completely uncovered, pushed the ball with great ease into the net. Egaleo equalized in the 65th minute of the game. After a long pass from the centre of the ground, Nikolopoulos caught the header and gave the ball to Makris - who was following - and with a quick shot beated Fernandez. Just five minutes later, Egaleo took the lead. Tsatsos kicked a foul into the area and Nikolopoulos with a close header scored, taking advantage of the defenders’ inaction." Blue and White Army
Fulham striker Andy Cole is suspended, and Radzinski is back from injury, so expect Tomasz to play a prominent role in the Cottagers' attack against West Brom.

Unlike any other Canadian keeper, Daniel has continually managed to keep the interest of some pretty big teams as he has progresssed through the ranks. I view that as more important in the long run than whether or not he makes a U-this or that team in terms of how he develops. The clubs, obviously are not looking at their prospects in "win now" terms. I suspect that Daniel is within a year or two of being Canada's keeper of choice - provided of course that he wants to play.

Blue and White Army
Mark Rogers played the full match for Stevenage Borough in their 1-0 away loss at Woking in the FA Trophy. Rogers seemed to have an impressive match, despite the final result. This is lifted from the official site's match report: "The second half was full of hustle and bustle and although I could detail another half a dozen half chances for Boro and a goal line clearance by Mark Rogers, who looked much more at home in the centre of defence, it was obvious that the game was going to fizzle out to a 1-0 win for The Cards." http://www.stevenageborofc.com/content/reports0405/woking_fataway_200405.shtml On a completely unrelated note, Stevenage are so plagued by injuries that the coach and a former assistant manager were both named to the team sheet! Halifax Town and Gordon Chin were also knocked out of the FA Trophy on Saturday, losing 0-1 at home to Northwich Victoria. Chin started on the bench for the Shaymen, but 30 hours later I still can't figure out whether he came on as a sub or not.
Massive Attack
Some more action involving Canadians on Sunday: Fernando Aguiar plays the entire match as Penafiel defeat Gil Vicente 1-0 on the road. Rocco Placentino plays the entire match as Cavese defeat Vigor Lamezia 3-0 in Serie C2C. Rocco scored the second goal on a penalty in the 58th minute. Also, datasport.it name Rocco as Cavese's best player. http://seriec.datasport.it/leggi.asp?id=2629815 David Masciantonio plays the entire match as Monterotondo tie Ostia Mare 1-1 in Serie D Girone E. Think that takes them into the quarter finals. That is probably because he now plays for Club Brugge . Klukowski has recovered from his thigh injury and rejoined training a day or two ago but is not yet match fit. Thus, he did not make his debut with Brugge tonight as they beat Olympic Charleroi 4-0.
