DJT
Originally posted on the other forum by Ed - Feb 4, 2004, 8:06 PM</u> It appears that the US fans have been hounding Fox Sports World for more Hannover 96 coverage (the signing of Clint "Cletus" Mathis is going over big) and as a result Sunday's televised game will not be Hertha Berlin vs VfB Stuttgart as previously scheduled, but rather Bayern Munich hosting Hannover 96. Bayern will of course be hurting after 3-4 days of Hitzfeld screaming at them so it should be a good one. Here's a post game quote from him today: "We've disgraced ourselves here today, so we have to win back some respect on Sunday against Hanover." Note that Hannover 96 drew Bayern 3-3 the second week of the season in sizzling heat in Hannover this past August and also drew Bayern twice last season. Julian de Guzman should be good to go, as he was very effective last week in Hannover's win over Hamburger SV. Here's to Julian scoring a highlight reel goal in front of a huge Euro & North American audience.

Gian-Luca
Radzinski doesn't start for Everton against Man U (already down 1-0 on a Saha goal, 20 minutes into the first half). Don't know if he's injured or just being rested. Stalteri has started for Bremen.
Gian-Luca
Brennan & Pesch have started for their respective clubs. Norwich leads 1-0, while Sheffield are currently trailing by the same score.
Gian-Luca
Bent still appears to be injured for Plymouth, as he's not dressed for today's match. Hume has started for Tranmere, down 1-0 at the half. Bircham started for QPR, 0-0 at the half. McKenna started on the bench for Hearts against Celtic, not sure if he saw any action in a 3-0 Cup loss. Gian-Luca
Bremen wins it in the 90th minute, even though a man down. Stalteri picked up a yellow but goes the distance. Man U beats Everton 4-3, though Radzinski nearly set up Rooney for another equalizer in injury time. Why those two didn't start is beyond me. sstackho
It looks like Pesch plays 90, but even the mighty Sheffield United can't stop the surging Crystal Palace, as Palace win 0-3 for their fifth away match in a row, setting a new club record. Come on Palace!!
Cheeta
Nope, Big Kev sees the match from the sidelines and just as well. All Celtic from start to finish. Quiet game for Radz. I thought. Few touchs. Nearly gave Rooney a chance at glory towards the end but it wasn't to be. Rooney seems to have trouble lately finishing Radz.'s quality deliverys. Hard luck. Oops. Almost forgot. Diesel looked pretty good today. Schaaf seems to allow him lots of freedom back there and he had to use his engine more than once to gallop back. Good game for the man. Especially after Krstajic got sent off. Nice to see that sour face of his creeping into play again[}]. Quite a different 2nd half for Bremen this year. Somehow I recall a massive slide (post-christmas) last season. Hey, JDG is on the box tomorow! Is 8:30 am too early for a lager or six?
redhat
quote:Originally posted by Cheeta Hey, JDG is on the box tomorow! Is 8:30 am too early for a lager or six? Hey Cheeta, a beer at 8:30 is never too early for a game against the team you love to hate, Bayern Munich, with that "English guy". Go Julian and Hannover 96! 3-1, for the good guys (and lesser rich team).

jonovision
Wigan is away to Ipswich in the late game of the First Division. 2-0 already for Wigan. BBC has the live audio, just head over to http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport/ and find the audio link (halfway down the page, towards the left). Requires RealPlayer. Reza
3-1 for Wigan .. a huge win as they move into the 3rd spot with 50 points, 4 points away from West Brom and an automatic berth and in a little bit more comfortable playoff position. Take note that the Bayern/Hannover game is not on until the afternoon in your time zone. Also, don't start counting the Bremen chickens yet as their star Brazilian hasn't put Carnival behind him yet. You can breathe easy if they are still going strong as we get through Lent.

George
Tough loss for AEK today. Panionios beat them 1-0. AEK will be hard pressed to keep their Champion League spot next year. It was the debut for AEK’s new Romanian manager. Kappos did not play. - - - Veroia played Rhodes Thursday. The game ended 1-1. Marcina did not play. What is going on?
