That sucks if its that young. Playing at youth level in an official competion (U17/U20/U21-23) ties you to the country but not permanently. Only official competition at the senior level makes it permanent. You can switch countries one time but not twice. Not sure if he would have many if any Canadian caps by now. If you look at his statistics he has appeared in a surprising large number of Championship, League 1 and 2 games but if you look at the minutes they were mostly pretty short appearances and his goal scoring totals are very low for a centre forward. This year he is signed with Sheffield United in the Championship but only made 3 appearances for 72 minutes in the first half of the season before being loaned to League 1 Rotherham United where he has made 7 appearances for 158 minutes. Since switching he has played 3 U19 and 3 U21 appearances for Northern Island with no senior squad appearances. I suspect that is similar to what he would have achieved with Canada. He is 25 so barring a career upswing may never get a call up to the NI full squad.
