Keano
Interesting that SJ are coming on a bit at the same time as IMFC have been slumping. It was on paper a very easy group for IMFC at the time of the draw. Things aren't looking as rosy now. The outcome of this game is probably the decisive moment as far as the group outcome. Bernardello may debut.

Cheeta
Sal' right. Maybe not the best result but a result all the same. Evil weather messed with the 1st half, bit less urgent in the 2nd maybe but Montreal takes away the goods in front of a decent home crowd. One step forward along the CONCRAP Champions League road. P.S. Dolan's coming along isn't he?
mtlfan
The Impact survive..........PK stop in the 12 min. Good defending by back line but offence seems to have disappeared. Camara heads in winner from a wicked free kick from Bernardello on 16 min.
shawn_strat
Bernardello was the man of the match. What a debut!

Keano
There's two ways to look at Bernardello's game-saving performance: 1) shrewd signing pays dividends 2) Montreal's A- side couldn't beat SJ's B side without him... maybe that's a bit dour. narduch
Considering this new format, the Impact just need a tie in San Jose to advance.
Trillium
Considering this new format, the Impact just need a tie in San Jose to advance. Better a win when they go south at the end of the month to Central America, load up with the Academy players and bring in the DP's if needed as second half substitutes. Its going to long road so you want all your less experienced players getting used to CONCACAF referees and away game tactics, including a DeViao etc.
