DJT
Guidelines for this thread In this thread post match updates on all Canadians abroad for January 15-21, 2010. If you find updates posted in some other thread or on the other Voyageurs forum then post them here as well, but be sure to credit the original poster. If there is news that is particularly significant (eg. someone scores a big goal, someone gets injured, etc.) then feel free to begin a new thread on that topic in order to draw greater attention or start a discussion, but also post that news here. Some comments on news posted in this thread are okay, but let's not let this thread go off into a long discussion. If the news already appears in another thread (as per the previous bullet) then post your comments in that other thread, otherwise if you want to say something significant or if it is likely to generate replies then begin a new thread. canucklefan
Fa Cup West Bromwich Albion 4 - 2 Newcastle United I thought maybe Marcus Haber would be in the bench today but that was not the case. Still, big win against a big rival, Nescastle.

trueviking
edgar was solid as burnley got bounced from the FA cup....he should have scored as he got to a beautiful header on a corner that the keeper made a diving circus save keeping it out of the top corner.....the commentators were suspect of the inexperience of the centre defence pairing at the start, but were full of praise in the second half....the goal came on 87. edgar got a rating of 6.1 on sky, the second highest on the team.... on their fan site:

It seems that our boy has now played two or three matches on the trot to the approval to just about anybody watching. What was Coyle thinking? Here's hoping that the young fella keeps his place and proves that he has a place as a starting centerback in the Premier League.

He said that because he wanted to keep the fee given to Newcastle as low as possible. It is the major reason.
trueviking
He said that because he wanted to keep the fee given to Newcastle as low as possible. It is the major reason. no...it wasnt the reason and he did not say that...edgar is playing because their two statring CB's are injured and a third is at the africa cup of nations.....there is no basis to the rumour that it had anything to do with the transfer fee. it seems edgar will get his last chance to make an impression on tuesday against coyle's team in bolton on tuesday....then bikey will return and it will be seen if he has done well enough to retain his spot in the eyes of the new manager. hopefully he has a good showing to prove to coyle that he was wrong....reading the fan sites, they are all very eager for him to get revenge.
