Thats a surprise but I always knew Scotland wouldn't be an easy game.

According to the match report Canada dominated the game. 10-2 in corners and 17-4 in shots on goal. Pellerud did rested his starters for this game it seems. I don't think we can read too much in that game.

The Scottish team wasn't the best team they could have played. The best player in Scotland ever wasn't even playing according to the CSA match tracker. Would have been great to see Julie Fleeting up against Canada's back line. Would have been a real tester.

Interesting how perspectives vary:

Scottish FA report: "The Scots, as in their previous matches in the tournament dominated much of this match against Canada..."

CSA report: "Canada's women's national team may have outchanced their opponents for much of the match... Canada outshot Scotland 17-4, won 10 of the 12 corner kicks awarded in the match, and even had three apparent goals called back."

It must be disappointing to so many of the posters on this site that the Canadian Women's team didn't crash and burn so they could renew their rant against the coach and CSA.

Yeah must be, cuz none of us would ever want the women to be successful...

Terpfan the tournament was taking place the same time as the Algrave Cup...the teams in the Cyprus Cup dont match up.. to the competition at the Algrave where we used to appear ....so the program paid back some favor perhaps or is not viewed as good enough for the Algrave Cup...

VILA REAL de SAN ANTONIO, Portugal (March 12, 2008) – The U.S. Women’s National Team got a first half goal on a header by Natasha Kai and a 49th minute game-winner from Abby Wambach to defeat Denmark, 2-1, and win the 2008 Algarve Cup.

Before you rant why dont you look at the full picture and be realistic... the Americans have had a harder pre Juarez experience then we have... it will come out in the wash if we are prepared or not.

I personally have no problem playing the Cyprus Cup to gain... confidence learn to string passes etc... but the reality is April in Mexico is the test..and we will be playing against teams with home advantage..two of them... the US and Mexico...

Nothing apparently has been done to moderate the ...affect of large home crowds, and I wonder if our team is ready to play in the kind of hothouse Mexico will be for this tournament.

Hopefully the team will be prepared and aware of the major political an social issues in Juarez and do something positive in regards to recognizing it and showing solidarity with young women just like them who are suffering from the "Femicide that is happening all over the planet and women are the casualties of every war against the body, spirit and mind. Yet on the U.S./Mexico bordertowns of Juárez and Chinuahua the epidemic has become extreme, condensed and in that sense site-specific. "

Think any one has talked to the players about it ?
