Men allt pekar på att anfallaren skriver på för IFK Göteborg inom en snar framtid. – Han ska komma till oss på besök, men vi vet av olika anledningar inte exakt när det blir, säger spelande sportchefen Håkan Mild. AIK:s vd Charlie Granfelt och tränaren Rikard Norling reste i går till Kanada i ett sista försök att rädda värvningen. Gerba säger själv att han inte har bestämt sig. – Jag hörde att det var några från AIK som skulle komma hit. Men jag vet inte riktigt vem, och de sa inte när, sa Gerba till Sportbladet i går kväll. I disagree. Sometimes, we'll be able to piece together some meaning (especially when we see some other team involved) and it's important to see that there *is* news. On top of that, we have Swedish posters who'll come on the board and translate what we've posted, whereas they wouldn't necessarilly post it otherwise. Summary: In a last ditch effort, AIK has sent their president and trainer to Canada to try and convince Gerba to sign. At the same time, according to IFK Göteborg, Gerba will soon be on his way to visit them. Gerba says that he hasn't decided yet. – I heard that someone from AIK might be coming here. But I don't who, and they didn't say when, said Gerba to Sportbladet last night. In the case that one of us "Swedish" posters (actually, I'm Canadian) doesn't post an article, it may be because it says the same thing as the last five or is mostly b.s.. AIK had their meeting with Gerba in Montreal yesterday and are said to have offered a little over $13,000/month, whereas Göteborg are offering a lower base-salary with performance bonuses, a place to live, a car and a job for Gerba's wife. Gerba hasn't said what he prefers, but his new agent/representative, Stig Lillejord, will be informing the chosen club today or tomorrow. Gerba is reportedly interested in the sporting aspect of it, so that may give IFK Göteborg a better chance, as they are playing Royal League and Uefa Cup. Jonas Wallerstedt, 27. Richard Richardsson, 26. Senast onsdag ska de presenteras som klubbens spelare. Två anfallare och en målvakt. Där har ni IFK Göteborgs nyförvärv inför säsongen 2006. * Ali Gerba värvas från Gif Sundsvall för 3,5 miljoner kronor. Han är muntligen överens med IFK Göteborg om att skriva på. I dag slutförhandlar hans agent Stig Lillejord de sista detaljerna i kontraktet. * Jonas Wallerstedt värvas också från Gif Sundsvall. Precis som Sportbladet avslöjade i går nobbar Ali Gerba AIK och skriver på för IFK Göteborg. - AIK verkade trevligt. Men jag var ute efter något mer stabilt, säger anfallaren. Nu hoppas den kanadensiske landslagsmannen på framgångar i Uefacupen och Royal League. - Göteborg slåss på många fronter, och jag vill bli en del av den framgången. Det här känns som det klart bästa steget för min karriär, säger han. So there appearently still isn't any signed contract. Btw, Gerba's increase in value from $50k to $500k over less than half a season could probably get GIF Sundsvall the investor of the year award. Just as Sportbladet uncovered yesterday, Ali Gerba has declined AIK and is signing with IFK Göteborg instead. - AIK seemed nice, but I was after something more stable, said the attacker. The Canadian international is now hoping for success in the Uefa Cup and Royal League. - Göteborg is competing on many fronts, and I want to be a part of the success.
