Jarrek
The Liberals did better then a lot of people expected them to do. Along with the NDP they'll hold a slight edge over the conservatives. Nice comeback story of the year, Ed Broadbent leading in Ottawa Centre. Your thoughts?
jonovision
I'm pretty pleased with the result. I didn't want the Conservatives to govern, but I think most Canadians wanted to see the Liberals taken down a peg. Of course, I personally voted for the Green Party so I can't take any credit for it. Jarrek
Disagreed. Change isn't always for the better. I'm pleased with the result as well.
DarnCherry
Yes much better to put the same wasteful government in power over and over again. Can't wait for them to waste some more billions of our money. Just for those who may wonder, I did vote, just not for any of the major parties. matthew
Can I thank Jarrek and anyone else from Missausaga for putting the great Pierre Chénier of the Marxist-Leninist party in the lead after two polls. definitely my highlight on election night. He had what 28 votes after two polls and 48 after 40 polls. Did his commune vote in the first poll or what? Anyone in Vancouver tell me anything about Cadman? Disgruntled right winger? Am I right to distrust anything that Surrey is backing? ;o) My riding is incredibly tight. There's 30 polls left and it's under 100. I don't mind how this is playing out. I was hoping for more of a message sent (but not in the form of a Conservative minority), but I'm happy it's a minority. cheers, matthew

I believe one of the reasons why he got off to a good start was because he was listed first on the ballot. Never posed a threat though.
Moosehead
I am disappointed that the Green Party is not on the board yet. I was thinking they would get at least 1 seat in the election from BC. Maybe its early and they will.

After losing the Conservative riding to one of those suspicious nomination scenarios where an unknown person (Jasbir Singh Cheema) signs up all of these people who all of a sudden want to join party, often not even Canadian citizens, he decided to run as an independant, and in one case crooked politics lost and he won. http://www.cbc.ca/canadavotes/riding/297/#cc
matthew
Thanks for that Krammer. I can't get on the cbc site to check it out. I'm stuck watching elections.ca but it doesn't have much info. The right did that in Sask a couple of times where the riding vote didn't seem exactly legal. They're still cleaning up. Dick's back up! 16 up with four polls left. He was down almost 200 with 10 polls left. Come on Dick! cheers, matthew
DarnCherry
I can't believe my riding voted Liberal for the first time that I can remember. Oh well, since the Liberal candidate is presently our mayor, at least he'll have to give up that job and at least we'll be down one incompetant mayor, up one incompetant MP. I wonder how many more seats the NDP would have won if the left was united, i.e. combining the NDP/Green vote. At the moment, my riding (Trinity-Spadina) would have been NDP instead of Liberal. matthew
That should have been 16 up with eight left, because now Dick's down eight votes with five polls left. I smell a recount. Regina-Lumsden-Lake Centre is also super close. Nice to Blair didn't win in Kingston ;o)> cheers, matthew

matthew
Yeah because the Conservatives have never done anything corrupt? I can't believe Saskatchewan is going to be predominantly PC (and Goodale might as well be a Tory). How soon they forget that 15 years ago Devine bent the populace over the table for eight years. cheers, matthew
DarnCherry
I think my comment to the last two eastern comments are self explantory. Especially Rudi's comment that Harper is corrupt. Perhaps he should explain himself. He and his party hasn't wasted billions of Canadian taxpayers money.
