Toje
"Among the teams participating in the inaugural season are Canadian Soccer legends Toronto Croatia, Supernova FC, Brampton City United, Epic FC, Atomic Selects and the North York Astros. The LIKA Supergoup will have 8 clubs as the league is continuing to review applications from other members and is set to kick off the season from May 29th through October 15th." http://www.torontocroatia.com/
BringBackTheBlizzard
Suspect this will last as long as the Puma International League, which is maybe best remembered for featuring Tie Domi as a soccer player, did back in the mid-90s. People who forget the past are condemned to repeat it as George Santayana put it.
zen
Well if that finally puts the dagger in the CSL that'd be great lol. I have no problems with the ethnic teams joining this league. If it's an amateur league maybe they can even carve out a little niche for themselves along side the OSL.
Blue and White Army
At least have a community in the team name. "Epic FC"... beer league.
Toje
Perhaps, not the best of names, but at least the club has been around for a few years (established in 2003). The U14 side from the club won the National Championships in 2015 beating a team from BC.
baulderdash77
This new league is sanctioned by the the OSA so at least some of the old CSL teams aren't going to stay in a rogue league anymore. That's good news for soccer in general as some of the taint of the CSL will leave. Hopefully the CSL will finally fold.
BringBackTheBlizzard
Presumably not sanctioned at D3 semi-pro level, so this is only a youth academy thing?
CDNFootballer
Wonder why Toronto Croatia wouldn't have joined the L1O instead?
BringBackTheBlizzard
It's already top heavy with GTA teams, so think they missed the window of opportunity on that.

to70
Economics. They figured it wasn't worth putting the entry fee in a league that gets 40-50 people a game. The interest for the team has really waned in the Croatian community. The Club president for the last few years financed the team on his own and I guess he's had enough.
